Chrissie is a 3X Ironman World Champion and is undefeated at the Ironman distance. She’s all sweet and smiles in person, but she has a nasty habit of breaking her own records. After winning 2010 Ironman Arizona, she began 2011 at a blistering pace, breaking her own world record at Ironman South Africa with a time of 8:33:56. She then went on to take Ironman 70.3 Kansas, and if that wasn’t enough, she claimed her third consecutive Quelle Challenge Roth victory with another Iron Distance World Record (8:18:13). Chrissie holds the four fastest women’s times for Ironman distance (and she customarily beats all but a handful of the men).

With natural talent, determination and focus, TJ Tollakson is quickly reaching the pinnacle of the sport. A former body builder and engineer before turning pro, Tollakson discovered triathlons in 2001 and quickly reached National class status, winning the USA Triathlon Age Group Nationals in 2004. His ‘breakthrough’ race came at the 2007 Eagleman 70.3 as he posted a blistering course record 3:46:28, including an incredible 2:02 Bike split. TJ’s so determined that when he blew a tire in this year’s New Orleans 70.3, he rode two miles and fi nished on his rims. His next race, the St. GeorgeIronman, he took third. Then he fl at-out wonIronman 70.3 Eagleman and claimed his fi rst full Ironman victory at Lake Placid. His favorite movie is Rocky (surprised?).

Most triathletes start out as swimmers, runners or cyclists. “Rinny” may be the only top triathlete who started out as a basketball player. In 2001, without background in any of the three disciplines, she entered her fi rst triathlon and ended up qualifying for Australian Junior Elite Team. The more Rinnysteps up her distance, the better she gets. She wonthe Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2007. Two years later, took second in her very fi rst Ironman. Then she won the whole thing, becoming world champion in 2010. So far this year, she won the Subaru 70.3 Eagleman and the Rohto 70.3. She also took second at the Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironman in New Zealand. And she can still play some hoops.

An athlete with serious overachievement issues,Julie is an Ironman 70.3 World Champion, 2X Olympic Qualifi er, and 3X XTerra World Champion. Born in Britain, she started out as a swimmer and achieved a swimming scholarship to LSU. After graduating, she started training for triathlons and hasn’t looked back since. Following a 2010 season with six fi rst-place wins, she’s busting it out in 2011, winning the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon, the New Orleans 70.3, and the Coeur d’Alene Ironman. Just to keep things interesting, she has a B.S. Degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Exercise Physiology.

“Why anyone would train their butt off and not race in Carbon is beyond me.”

As a college swimmer, Andy was rocking (4th place in ’96 Olympic trials, 6X All-American). But he likes challenges, so he went out for track his senior year. Triathlons were next. He won the World Cup in 2005 and hasn’t looked back. He was first out of the water at the 2010 Ironman World Championship, won the 2010 Ironman Cozumel and he’s kicking butt in 2011 taking wins in the California 70.3, the 2011 Florida 70.3, the 2011 CapTex Triathlon, the latest Escape from Alcatraz and most recently won Ironman 70.3 Vineman. Even his home life is athletic, his wife was a Cirque Du Soleil acrobat.

Always a strong swimmer, Matt started competing in beach lifesaving competitions and discovered he was also a pretty good runner. Next, he read Lance Armstrong’s book and was inspired to start cycling. The rest looks like it’s going to become triathlon history. Since turning pro in 2006, Matt grabbed two top ten finishes in the World Championship Series, plus two Pan American Championship titles. He finished 2010 ranked No. 1 in the U.S. and 12th in the world. Matt’s sofa (if he even has one) doesn’t get much use. In his downtime, he sails, surfs and spear fishes.

Sarah Haskins is already amazing and getting better every second. It seems everyone is predicting her as a favorite in 2012. It’s a lot of pressure, but she’s found a really good way of dealing with it — by winning. Not even halfway through 2011, she’s already accumulated five first-place finishes, including the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon. A high school swimmer and runner, she completed her first tri in 2003. The next year, she was accepted to the Resident Triathlon Team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, where she met her husband, triathlete, Nate Kortuem. (TYR is considering full sponsorship of any children they might have.)

mAgALI TIsseYReIRONmAN 70.3 cHAmpION

We’re pretty certain that Magali is the only accomplished violinist who’s been named “Ironman 70.3 Triathlete of the Year” by Triathlete Magazine. That was 2009, when she took third in the Timberman 70.3, second in Calgary, and then won the 70.3 Boise. In 2010, Magali took 5 first place wins, including the Ironman Mooseman 70.3, the Cobra Ironman Philippines, and the Ironman Buffalo Springs 70.3. She also took third in the 70.3 World Championships. She’s started 2011 off strong with winning the 70.3 Boise and taking first place in the 70.3 Rhode Island. Magali has been a competitive skier and snow-boarder and also done motocross. She’s also finishing a master’s degree in biomechanics. (We recently voted her most likely to take over the company.)

Magali trains and races in TYR Hurricane C5 wetsuit, Torque Pro Swimskin, and TYR Carbon with the AMP Pad. 55
