Emergency Weather ClosingWhen a decision is made to close ��&��the morning as possible. The announcement will identify our school district as White Bear Lake Area Public Schools. Efforts will also be made to use the Instant Alert system to notify families of school closures. If no ��will be in session as scheduled. Parents may also check the District website or call the White Bear Lake Area School Closing Hotline number at 651-407- 7540. Parents should use their discretion in sending children outside when the weather is extremely cold.

Early Childhood ScreeningState law mandates that all children are required to participate in Early Childhood Screening for entrance to kindergarten. This screening ensures that all young children in Minnesota are well equipped and ready for learning and that families can be aware of resources in the school and the community. The '��(��)��children between the ages of 3½ and 5 years of age at no cost (one time only). Children only need to be screened once.

Minnesota Student Immunization LawMinnesota Statutes Section 121A.15 and Minnesota Rules Chapter 4604 requires that each student enrolled in and remaining in an elementary or secondary school must submit a record stating that ��9��!��9��If the student or parent(s) meets one of the legal exemptions - contraindication for medical reasons or contraindication for conscientiously held beliefs ?��appropriate exemption.

Community Use of School District FacilitiesThe Community Services and Recreation Department maintains the school facility reservation schedule. Requests to use school district facilities should be made through the Facilities Scheduling line at 651-407-7503 or by emailing [email protected]. Facility details and rental agreement information can be found at http://www.whitebear.k12.mn.us/community/facilities.htm.

Scheduling requests should be made at least one week prior to the desired reservation date. When the reservation date desired is less than one week from the activity date, the Community Services staff will make every effort to accommodate requests in a timely fashion.

May ’12 ��White Bear Lake Area Schools partners with Hangzhou Foreign Languages School, located in Hangzhou, China, for teacher and cultural exchanges. Students interact with long-term exchange teachers who serve residencies in each of the elementary schools and are resources at the secondary schools.
