    - The 2010 SEC which focuses on teaching and learningfor understanding and doing this by design, is rolled-out in the first year of school year 2010-2011 andcontinued to following school years:

    SY 2011-2012 Second year level

    SY 2012 2013 Third year level

    SY 2013 2014 Fourth year level

    Delivery of the curriculum Medium of instruction in English, Science, Mathematics,

    CP-TLE, MAPEH and CAT is English while in Filipino,Araling Panlipunan, Edukasyon sa pagpahalaga is Filipino

    Integrative teaching and constructivism as key features ofthe 2002 BEC shall continue to be strengthened in alllearning areas across the curriculum

    The use of ICT as integral to the curriculum shall continue

    to be pursued in schools where the technologies mayalready be available. Likewise, learning shall be extended asfar as practicable to the community as the schoolslaboratory for authentic learning.

    Grading System The implementing guidelines on the performance-

    based grading system as defined in DepEd order No. 33s.,2004 shall continue to be enforced, with emphasisbeing placed on the formative function of assessment.

    The 60-30-10 test design shall continue to be adopted,where 60% of the items shall be easy, 30% shall beaverage or moderately difficult and 10% shall bedifficult.

    Alternative assessment shall be utilized wheneverappropriate.

    Promotion and Retention Student promotion shall be by subject and shall

    continue to be based on the minimum performancestandard of 75%.

    A student shall be retained in the year level if he/sheincurs failures of 3 units or more during the regularschool year and is unable to make up for the failedsubjects during the summer sessions.
