You may register to vote at any time, but you must be registered at least 30 days in advance of an election if you wish to vote at a polling place on election day. You may also register between 30 and 15 days before an election or on-line at vote.wa.gov.

How to register: Mail-in registration forms are available from your county auditor or county elections department as well as many public libraries, schools and other governmentoffices.“MotorVoter”registrationisofferedwhenyoureneworapplyforyourdriver’slicense.

Absentee ballots: You may request an absentee ballot as early as 45 days before an election. (No absentee ballots are issued on election day except to overseas U.S. citizens, military personnel, and hospitalized voters. Absentee ballots may be requestedeitherbyphoneorbymailfromthecountyelectionsofficer.Youmayalsoapply in writing to automatically receive an absentee ballot before each election.
