Maxply:Quite possibly the most famous and long-lived racquet ever made. Introduced in 1931 and staying in the Dunlop line for over 50 years, the Maxply was the racquet of choice of some of the greatest players of all time: Rod Laver, Lew Hoad, John McEnroe, Virginia Wade, and many, many more.

Rod Laver is the only player ever to win two calendar year Grand Slams, and he accomplished both with the Dunlop Maxply (1962 and 1969).

Max 200G:A revolutionary frame that debuted in 1983, the Dunlop Max 200G is still considered one of the greatest player-oriented frames of all time. Using the Injection Moulded construction process, this racquet was known for its power, pinpoint control, and unbeatable softness and feel. The Max 200G was the weapon of choice for tennis greats John McEnroe and Steffi Graf, who, in 1988, became the only player to have won a “Golden Grand Slam” in tennis history.

Aerogel 200:Introduced in 2007, the Aerogel 200 was the first racquet to incorporate the world’s lightest solid into racquet construction, giving it unsurpassed power with the control and feel players have come to expect from the 200 over the past quarter-century. Played by top players James Blake, Tomas Berdych, and many others, the Aerogel 200 has become synonymous with top-level control and feel.

Aerogel 4D 200:The evolution of a Legend continues…Introducing the Aerogel 4D 200. Designed to give players all the control, feel, and comfort they demand for today’s game. The 4D 200 has Dunlop’s proprietary 4D Braiding at touchpoints throughout the frame, giving it 33% more stability for unmatched control, and making it 33% softer for unsurpassed touch, feel and comfort.

Evolutionof a Legend:

4D stands for 4 directional braiding.

It is constructed using four braided fibres of superlight S-glass fiber wrapped in an aluminum alloy sheath.

The fibers are aligned at 0, 90, 22 and -22º orientations which enables stresses to be supported in multi directions whereas standard carbon sheets are only oriented in one direction. This means that one layer of 4D material has the equivalent properties to four layers of standard carbon layed up at different orientations. Consequently 4D material is four times more effective than standard carbon. Furthermore, by using one layer, 4D is also softer and less bulky than 4 layers of carbon.

At 5 and 7 o’clock the multi-directional properties of the 4D braided cloth help stabilize the torsional twist at key points of the racquet.

At 3 and 9 o’clock one layer of 4D braided cloth provides the torsional stability previously only achievable with several layers of carbon fibre. As a result of only one layer being used instead of several this softer material also provides superb touch and feel at ball contact.

Vibrocore™ dramatically reduces frame vibration after ball impact. The racquet is actually cut in half and then re-constructed using two additional pieces. A sleeve portion is made from a thermal-plastic resin system while the round core material is made of silicon rubber. These combine to produce an unrivalled vibration damping effect. At ball impact shock waves are absorbed in the shaft of the racquet into the silicon rubber core and are therefore not allowed to travel down the

handle. This significantly reduces the risk of tennis elbow and provides exceptional comfort. The sleeve portion also provides a ‘hinge’ effect which helps to provide exceptional rebound power while allowing for the ultimate in player comfort.

Dunlop tennis balls have been leading the way for decades, a tradition that we want to continue which is why we have introduced new technology for 2009.

Dunlop HD Core is manufactured to a higher specification resulting in more consistent playing characteristics giving players more confidence to select the correct shot.

Dunlop HD Cloth uses high quality woven playnes cloth and is treated with a special dye creating the ultimate visibility in tennis balls.

Dunlop HD Core and HD Cloth combine to create Dunlop HD2 Technology – ‘Ball-istic’ technology which is endorsed by Dunlop’s Tour Team.

THE WORLD’S #1 BALLDunlop insists on using the purest natural rubber. It is analyzed at source, guaranteeing consistent first class quality which gives all Dunlop balls their unrivaled performance. 13 special ingredients are compounded into the final formula and individual ‘blanks’ are extruded, precisely measured and accurately weighed under strictly controlled conditions.

Trays of ‘blanks’ are placed into a precision automated ‘half shell’ mould. These half shells are molded under controlled pressure and temperature conditions. The shell edges are buffed and a glue solution of natural rubber is applied to the edge. The half shells are ‘vulcanized’ together in a press under heat and pressure and ‘buffed’ to form a complete spherical core.

To protect and preserve the life of a ball and add to its performance capabilities, the rubber core is bonded to an extremely durable cloth made of the best New Zealand wool/nylon blend.

This produces the optimum wear and durability properties for the ball.

The ball is then heated in a press to ‘vulcanize’ the seam between the cloth covers and bond the covers firmly to the core. After steaming and drying, each ball is hand inspected and monitored through a series of tests and inspections that replicate the impact and abrasive forces encountered in tennis. The balls are also tested for accurate flight characteristics, aerodynamics and uniformity of bounce.

Finally the balls are packed in hermetically sealed pressurized cans, so that the balls keep their internal pressure (15psi) and remain ‘factory fresh’ right up to the moment the can is opened.
