EXCELLENT HSC RESULTS 2009 Congratulations to the class of 2009 It is with much pride that we acknowledge the significant success of the 2009 Year 12 cohort in their HSC examinations. Throughout the year, these commendable students have shown themselves to be a particularly close knit group, supportive of each other at all times and collaborative in their approach to study. This strong sense of community spirit no doubt was a contributing factor to their fine HSC achievements. It is pleasing to note that the girls have not only achieved academically, but have shown a strong sense of compassion and service in their contribution to Abbotsleigh. 2009 Band summaries

Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)Formerly known as the UAI, this rank represents scaled HSC results based on each student’s best 10 units (including the two compulsory units of English). The results are ranked by the Universities Admission Centre on a statewide basis and assigned a ‘percentile’ that is calculated to the second decimal place rounded to five. The scaled mark for each course is based on the quality of the candidates in that course in that year. The maximum ATAR is 99.95 and a ranking of 99 or better indicates the top 2% of the state candidature. These rankings are used by universities to give admission to courses. ATARs are private to individual students and can be known with certainty only when students inform the School.
