WITH ITS MODERN learning environments and a well-funded commitment to quality education, Sweden provides a solid foundation on which to build your career.

Degree structureIn line with the Bologna Process – the Europe-wide drive for harmonization in higher education – Swedish universities haveswitched to a new degree structure.

There are two master’s degree qualifications available. The difference between the two is based on the length of the study program.

– Degree of Master (One Year)

– Degree of Master (Two Years)

Sweden has also adopted the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), the European standard for study at-tainment and grading.

Who can apply? In short, anyone who is qualified, regardless of age, sex or nationality, can apply for a master’s degree program. Cultural diversity is encouraged.

Students who do not have a scholarship and require a visa to studyin Sweden will need to show they have SEK 7,300 (about EUR 780) permonth to cover living expenses during their stay. Certain conditionsapply to all students: a good level of English is a prerequisite as aregood academic grades – expect competition for places.

Hairuo Zhang, China, International and Comparative Law Programme, Uppsala University

The seminars are my favorite part of studying in Sweden. In China, most of ourclasses are lectures and there is no studentparticipation. Here, we are divided intogroups to prepare for the seminars. Groupdiscussions are very beneficial because theyrequire us to learn how to cooperate withpeople who are from all over the world. Thismethod also promotes the spirit of teamwork. And this is how law firms work in real life.”
