Especially transformer fires are extremly compli-
cated to extinguish. In the majority of cases, the
transformers cannot be accessed from the outside
and the burning transformer oil bears a high safety
risk for the firefighters.
A precise firefighting requires on the one hand
an efficient extinguishing agent and on the other
hand an at least pre-assembled possibility for foam
injection.
With the innovative One Seven® system Gimaex has
a highly efficient and safe extinguishing system
which is approved for electrically plants.
Moreover, the know-how for stationary or half-stati-
onary compressed air foam applications is provided.
This is the solution for a successful and fast firefigh-
ting of such complicated fires and therefore it avoids
long downtimes.

One Seven® - Dry Foam
Test procedure according to European standard
EN 3-2/1999
The following values have been determined:
35 kV/50 Hz 99,6 µA at Dry Foam
35 kV/50 Hz 1247,0 µA at Wet Foam
The application of a One Seven® 1.5" (C) nozzle
with One Seven® Dry and Wet Foam in electrically
plants of up to 35 kV had been tested and certified
by the accredited laboratory "VEIKI-VNL Villamos
Nagylaboratóriumok Kft. Tanúsitási iroda".
When applying One Seven® at electrically
plants with a voltage of up to 35 kV, a minimum
distance of 4 m must be kept.
One Seven® Wet Foam
A foam spaying nozzle system has to be installed for the application in transformers stations to provide a gapless covering with One Seven® Wet Foam for efficient and sustaining extinguishing of the burning transformers oil in shortest time.

Protection target:
The transformer stations are located inside the
production building at different floors. Due to the
appropriate design of the extinguishing sectors it is
possible to effectively protect all substations from
the control station.
One Seven® flat jet nozzles will be used as discharge
installations for optimum compressed air foam
covering.

Train station "Potsdamer Platz"
Protection target:
In the case of a fire, the cable tunnels (2.0 m wide -
3.0 m high) in the basement of the train station will
be foamed by a stationary One Seven® OS 5000 ST
compressed air foam system so that a fire will be
completely extinguished within a short time.
The cable tunnel to be protected has a length of
approximately 200 m. The foam pipeline networks
and the nozzle distribution networks have been
separated into four extinguishing sectors.
128 One Seven® flat jet nozzles have been installed
to cover the complete cable tunnel.

Technical Inspection Authority (TÜV) Berlin-
Brandenburg.

This foam concentrate is allowed for the firefighting
of class B fires like flammable liquids (hydrocarbons)
or plastic fires.
It is currently the only foam concentrate worldwide
which requires a proportioning rate of only 0.5%.
The foam concentrate can also be used with
seawater.
It features an excellent environment compatibility.
Ideal extinguishing effects will be reached with a
proportioning rate of only 0.5%.
When comparing prices, please note that you have
to provide the 6- to 10-fold quantity of conventional
multi purpose foam concentrate. For comparable
extinguishing results you would also have to carry
along the 6- to 10-fold quantity in the vehicle.
The advantages of the class B-AFFF foam
concentrate at a glance:
The foam concentrate is non-toxic and easily
biodegradable (up to 96% within 17 days).
· very good environment compatibility
· economical due to low proportioning rates
· low proportioning rates, normally 0.5%
· fast penetration into the fuel
· Government approved under SP 35/01
The concentrate‘s characteristics:
Appearance: clear, yellowish liquid
Density at 20° C 1.05
PH value at 20° C 8.5
viscosity, mPa.s at 20° C 20
freezing point <-15° C
Efficiency of the foam solution:
A 0.5% solution features the following typical
characteristics:
Surface tension at 20°C, mN/m 15.5
Interfacial tension with
N-heptane at 20°C, mN/m 2.5
Foam expansion index 7.5
