Be advised: These instructions may not include specifics for all vehicle configurations. Tools Needed: 10mm nut driver or socket, #1 Phillips screwdriver, and Trim Removal Tools (Optional) 1a. This step makes sure that the programmer has the latest firmware installed. If Tuner Update Software is not already installed on your PC, go to our website and download the update software. Connect the Speedometer Calibrator to your PC with the supplied USB cable, run the update software and click the Update Tuner button. You may be prompted to select the correct configuration file for your vehicle. 1b. Once configuration is complete, connect the Speedometer Calibrator module to the harness and take it to the vehicle.

Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator Module Installation Instructions

2005-2009 Toyota Tacoma This installation manual shows an example installation on 2005-2009 Toyota Tacoma vehicles. 3. Partially remove the driver’s side kick panel. a. Using your hands, gently pull straight back on the kick panel. There are 2 release clips; one is shown below. The other clip is directly below the one shown.

4. Remove the coin tray. a. There are 4 clips that hold the tray in place. Gently pull straight out from the dash to remove the tray.

5a. Using a 10mm socket, remove the two bolts shown in the following photos to remove the lower instrument panel.

5b. It’s not necessary, but it helps to pull the door seal out and away from the instrument panel. This allows room to get your fingers or trim removal tool behind the panels.

5c. Starting on the lower left-hand side, gently separate the lower instrument panel by pulling straight out from the dash. When it’s completely separated, lower it to the floorboard.

5d. Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the upper screws in the IP bezel. Note: make sure that good contact between the screwdriver and screw is made to ensure that the head is not stripped.

5e. It is a good idea to place some thick card-stock or paper around the top of the steering column to prevent scratching.

5f. Starting on the left-hand side, gently separate the upper Instrument Panel Bezel. Rotate it up, to the left and let it hang.

6a. Using a 10mm socket, remove the (4) retaining screws securing the Instrument Panel Cluster.

6b. Rotate the Instrument Panel Cluster forward to gain access to the harness on the left side. Note: To prevent breaking the connectors, DO NOT rock the connector back and forth. Squeeze the release and pull straight up. 6c. Using your index finger, you will be able to feel the locking tab on the back of the connector. Press-in on the tab and pull up to remove the connector.

7. Connect the male end of the Speedometer Calibrator Harness to the factory wiring harness and the female end into the Instrument Panel Cluster.

8. Reverse the removal process to install the Instrument Cluster. 9. Start Vehicle and check for any warning signs or messages. 10. Test drive vehicle to ensure proper Speedometer function. 11. Enjoy the drive!
