We are pleased to announce the first edition of the “You´re ON!” competition call for ideas, developed by ON-A.

We would like to invite the student community related to the design sector (architects, interior designers, industrialists ...) to participate in this challenge who, like us, want to develop challenging projects, sustainable and innovative solutions to solve the problems of the Present and Future. This contest aims to recognize all those students who research, explore, create and give rise to innovative ideas and concepts.

2– who can participate?

All students of both undergraduate and postgraduate programs belonging to any university in the world can participate.

You can present both an academic or personal project made previously and one made exclusively for this competition "You´re ON!"

ON-A means "on architects", in the sense of architects that are switched on, awake, active, always wanting to innovate. It also refers to Barcelona, the city where the office was founded and finally "ona", what means wave in Catalan, an example of a complex but parametrizable element of nature.

4– what do I have to submit?

The submission is digital only. It consists in an A1 vertical panel (150 dppi) / 3508 x 4961 pixels, in JPG format with a maximum weight of 10 MB.





3– what is valued?

The best way to understand the philosophy of ON-A is by looking at the entrance of our office in Barcelona where you can read several words that summarize the ideas or concepts that move us when we design.

Emotion for the continuous search for surprise in the spaces we design, for always trying to surprise the client andtheir users.

IInnovation for the continuous search for new materials, shapes and ways of approaching each project and the architectural practice. Laboratory because we understand our office as a place of creativity and research where to develop our ideas. A space also open to everyone.

Geometry because we like shapes, simple or complex and we think that each project can be expressed in a different way. We use the term Coding to talk about their geometry control, materials or processes. Every project needs coding to make its construction possible.

Architecture and Design for being the disciplines that we are passionate about and motivate us every day to continue working.

And finally, the Technology. We believe that it is essential for the development and control of all processes and that this should never be a limitation but quite the opposite.

5– how do I participate?

Registration is free and is only supported on an individual level.

To participate you have to fill in the form you’ll find on the ON-A website. Registration implies acceptance of the contest rules.

In the registration you will be requested your name, degree or postgraduate course, university, telephone and email contact.

After completing your data, you will be assigned an individual code. This code is the one that should appear in the file name and in the upper right margin of the panel. Once you have an assigned participation code you must upload your proposal to the ON-A website in the following section:

The intellectual property and publication rights of the work developed correspond exclusively to the authors. ON-A, however, reserves the right to disseminate the content, title, author's name and results of the awarded projects.

The call will be anonymous.

6– what are the prizes?

In this first edition of the “You´re ON!” competition there will be three prizes:

1st Prize:

- A 6-month paid internship at the ON-A office in Barcelona.

- An Ipad pro.

- An inscription to the vertical gardens course organized by Verdtical.

- A copy of the book “ON-A. EMOTION-ARCHITECTURE. WORKS & PROJECTS”.

- A selection of 4 books from Actar publishers.

7– who evaluates the proposals?

The Jury of this edition is formed by:

The call will be anonymous and the jury will deliberate without prior knowledge of the authors of the projects.
