Hace tiempo, un grandey potente elefante gobernabaen todo el territorio. Dehecho, el elefante era el reyde todos los animales, quele tenían mucho miedo. Aunlos tigres, leopardos ypanteras temían al elefante.Siempre que había unaespecie de problema, los demásanimales pedían ayuda al elefante. Elescuchaba sus problemas, pero nuncatenía verdadero interés en ayudar alos demás animales. A veces, incluso tomabadecisiones o dictaba reglas que hacían daño a los demás.
Por fin, los animales se enojaron tanto con su líder, que decidierontener una junta secreta. En ella, hablaron de las las acciones de su rey ehicieron planes para rebelarse. Los demás animales no podían ya aceptarlas reglas ofensivas y las decisiones del elefante. Sin embargo, una vez quecomenzó la junta, ningún animal tuvo suficiente valor para hablar contrael rey. ¿Qué pasaría si el rey lo sabía y los castigaba? Aun tigres, leopardosy panteras guardaron silencio.
Al fin, se oyó una voz muy suave. La que hablaba era una minúsculahormiga: “Amigos míos, yo puedo enseñar una lección al elefante.” Se oyóuna explosión de risa de todos los animales. ¿Cómo podría una débilhormiguita cambiar nada? La hormiga se calló, y la junta continuó. Sinembargo, ningún otro animal ofrecía una solución. Una vez más, lahormiga tomó la palabra: “Amigos míos, permítanme enseñar a nuestrorey una lección.” Como los animales no tenían otra opción, acabaron poraceptar que la hormiga pusiera a prueba su plan. Pero pocos de elloscreyeron que tendría éxito.
Las noticias de la junta no tardaron en difundirse rápidamente portodo el bosque, y acabaron por llegar hasta el elefante. Cuando él oyó lanoticia, se rio de la audacia de la hormiga. No podía imaginar cómo
