Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka and a major IT hub in India has emerged as one of thefastest-growing cities in the country. Popularly known as the ‘Silicon Valley’ of India, Bengaluru is the fourth-highest GDP contributor. The city has grown phenomenally in terms of technology, industry, enterprise and above all, opportunity.

Major IT companies like Wipro and Infosys have their headquarters in Bengaluru. The rapid pace of urbanisation, better educational environment, job prospects, healthcare and recreational facilities have rapidly grown the city’s population with an ever-increasing influx of people.

Popularly known as the Garden City of India, Bengaluru’s rapid growth has posed its own set ofChallenges. The city’s green patches, parks, open public spaces, lakes and water bodies have been under strain over the years. There is an enormous pressure on groundwater supply while the consumption is rapidly rising. Waste management is another issue the city needs to focus upon.

Future Cities 2021 aims at addressing these issues and providing a platform to all major national and international technology and service providers to discuss the possibilities, opportunities and solutions for these city development challenges, not only for the city of Bengaluru, but for cities and towns all over India.

• For the last 16 years, Municipalika, International Conference and Exhibition on Making Cities Work has been instrumental in highlighting pertinent issues revolving around these challenges and opportunities, sharing best and leading practices, showcasing technological and managerial solutions and providing inputs for policy interventions.

• Municipalika 2021 is the 17th International Exhibition and Conference on Smart and Sustainable City Solutions.

• It will have the participation of Countries, States, Municipal Corporations and Parastatal boards displaying the initiatives they have undertaken for their Cities along with 300+ technology solution providers for city development needs, exhibiting their technologies and Displays.
