The Battle of Waterloo, which took place in Belgiumon 18th June 1815, marked the final defeat ofFrench Millitary leader Napolean Bonaparte. Duringthis tour we can retrace some of the steps withinclusive visits to Ypres, famous for the costlybattles fought during World War I, where theenormous, reconstructed, Lakenhalle houses the InFlanders Field Museum, which provides a multi-sensory experience combining soundscapes, videosand exhibits. The Wellington Museum with aWaterloo “Pass 1815” which includes six battlefieldattractions and a guided walking tour of Ghent, thecapital of East Flanders. There are so many fairytale castles & palaces in theLoire Valley that we are simply spoilt for choice, wehave picked out our favourite & paired it with atraditional wine tour & tasting at the famous Vouvraywine cellar for good measure! In addition, we havealso included, on this two-centre holiday, “le GrandParc” at Puy du Fou. Our first three nights in theLoire Valley are based at Orleans, and from here weinclude a tour to a very different castle - ChateauRoyal De Blois, which harbours secrets of the Frenchcourt, wander through the royal apartments anddiscover the history, before making your way into thepretty town of Blois. This autumn tour combines the beautiful BlackForest with the annual colourful flower festival. Enjoythe impressive flower arrangements which cover thebeautiful old town Lahr and see the magnificentTriberg waterfalls and the famous Cuckoo Clock.During our stay we visit the town of Lahr, to celebratethe arrival of autumn with a festival of intenseoranges, yellows and reds!
