Exodus 3:1-3 1 Now Moses wastending the flock of Jethrohis father-in-law, the priest

of Midian, and he led theflock to the far side of the

desert and came to Horeb,the mountain of God. 2 There

the angel of the LORDappeared to him in flames of

fire from within a bush.Moses saw that though the

bush was on fire it did notburn up. 3 So Moses thought,

"I will go over and see thisstrange sight--why the bush

does not burn up."

Exodus 3:4 When the LORD saw that hehad gone over to look, God called tohim from within the bush, "Moses!

Moses!" And Moses said, "Here I am."

Exodus 3:5-6 5 "Do not come any closer," Godsaid. "Take off your sandals, for the placewhere you are standing is holy ground." 6

Then he said, "I am the God of your father,the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac andthe God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid hisface, because he was afraid to look at God.

We run before we are sent.

We retreat after we have failed.

We resist when we are called.

Exodus 3:7-10 7 The LORD said, "I have indeed seen themisery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them cryingout because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned

about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescuethem from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring themup out of that land into a good and spacious land, a landflowing with milk and honey--the home of the

Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites andJebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites hasreached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians areoppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you toPharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt."

Be Confident in His Power.

Be Compelled with His Plans.

Isaiah 55:8-9 8 "For my thoughts are not your

thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declaresthe LORD. 9 "As the heavens are higher than the

earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and mythoughts than your thoughts.
