Science In Room 4 Helicopter We made a helicopter from a plan. I found that if you changed the wing flaps around, the helicopter spun the other way. If we added 1 paperclip it spun slowly but if we added 3 it went quite fast and the wings went up with the speed of it. Amber Thomason

Bouncing Egg We put an egg in vinegar and we couldn’t see much. We did see bubbles on the side of the egg. After 2 days we took the egg out and the shell had been eaten by the acid in the vinegar. The egg was soft and squishy. Lily Rose Balancing Egg

We cut out the shape of a parrot and tried to balance it on our finger. It wouldn’t balance, so we put plasticene on its tail and it did. We had to make sure the plasticene was even or the parrot leant to one side. I really like science especially the bouncing egg experiment. Holly Williams

Ghost Fish We stared at a coloured fish that we cut from cardboard for 2 seconds then we looked at a fish bowl we had drawn on white paper. We noticed that a coloured shadow of a fish appeared in the bowl. It was like magic. I wondered why it was a different colour? Maata Howard

Assembly It was great to see so any parents come along to our assembly yesterday, as well as the

international grandparents from Holland and Ireland and some of our local grandparents too..

Well done to those children who were awarded certificates yesterday for demonstrating our Motto

“Making a Difference Together”

Abbie McConnon and Holly Williams - for helping teach others the ukulele in their spare time.

Tara Morgan - for doing her best. She can now take her feet off the bottom, kick across the pool with a

flutterboard and put her face in the water.

Gypsy Turnbull - for taking the challenge to do the ‘Korero Maori’ morning greeting - Ata marie, Kei te

pehea koe.

Elisa Hubner - for being responsible in class. She can be trusted to get things done and is also respectful and

kind to others.

Caitlin Anderson - for being responsible by finding Phoebe’s bookbag on the bus, taking it with her and

phoning to say she had found it.

Chrystal Boomert - for being considerate of others, showing great manners and taking on tasks without being

asked.

Xanthe Rose - for always completing tasks to a high standard and going the extra mile to make things even

better.

Meredith Broadhurst - for being a great listener and contributing thoughtful ideas in class discussion.

Aria Tomlinson - has stepped up in school work by producing a lot higher standard of work.

Charlotte Miller - has shown strength of character in taking on challenges that she finds hard.
