Noah was a normal guy. He lived in Mesopotamia, with his family. He had three sons who were called Shem, Ham and Japheth. One day God looked

down on the world that he had created and he saw how mean and evil the people had become. It broke his heart to see the way they were acting. "I'm sorry I made them, he said, "I'll get rid of them all." But God saw that Noah was different. God saw that Noah was a good man, so he decided that he would spare Noah and his family. God told Noah about his plan to send a great flood to destroy everything on the earth.

Look at your family, what is special about the people you live with?

Pray for the people in your family.

God told Noah to build a big boat called an ark. God told Noah exactly how

to build it. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75

feet wide and 45 feet high. Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches

of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper

decks.

Have you ever put together a model kit like this one? I have built several models and they are a lot of fun to build. I have built model cars and trains but never one like this.

Build a boat for God. God told Noah to use Cedar wood. I know I haven’t got that in my house, but I do have Lego or card.

God wanted Noah’s family in the boat and two of every kind of animals. Noah

obeyed God. He built the boat and then he put two of every kind of animal

into it. Then Noah and his family entered the ark and God shut the door.

Soon the rain began to fall. The raindrops made little puddles, then bigger puddles.

The big puddles became streams and rivers, then mighty seas. Soon the whole earth

was covered with water. The ark tossed up and down on the waves, but Noah, his

family and all the animals were safe and dry inside the ark.

God had a plan for Noah's life. Because he was faithful and obeyed God, Noah and his entire family were saved. God has a plan for your life too. Will you trust God like Noah did?

Father, sometimes it seems that the job is too big for us. Help us to remember that when we put trust in you, anything is possible. Amen.

For 40 days the floods kept coming. Everything was gone from the earth.

Only Noah was left with his family and the animals in the ark. God

remembered Noah and sent a wind to make the waters go down. After a time, Noah

sent out a Dove but he returned to the ark, then after another week Noah sent the

Dove out again, this time it returned with an Olive leaf. Life was returning! Noah

looked for a place to rest the boat.

God’s plan worked. Noah and his family were safe. With the animals rescued as wel,l the world could be saved. How can we help rescue our planet now?

Father, we pray for our planet, show us what we can do to help save animals and other people living in difficulty.

22nd August 2021 We are spending our summer with Noah and his family. We will see how God helps him to save the world.

Noah and his family stepped out onto the dry land and all the animals came

out of the ark. Noah built an alter and worshiped God for keeping them safe.

God said “Never again will I curse the ground because of men and women.” He told

Noah to be fruitful and fill the earth. He told Noah he was now responsible for the

plants and animals.

Do you have any pets? Is it hard to look after them?

Dear God, We pray for our environment, for the birds, the beasts of the earth and the fish. Amen.

29th August 2021 We are spending our summer with Noah and his family. We will see how God helps him to save the world.

After the flood waters went down, God made a promise to Noah. He promised

Noah that He would never again destroy the whole earth with a flood. Then He

put a rainbow in the sky and said to Noah, "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and

it will be a sign of the promise between Me and all life on the earth." God said the

rainbow would remind us of the promise that He made.

God’s rainbow reminds us that He always keeps His promises. The next time you see

a rainbow, remember the promise God made to Noah, and remember that just as

God has kept that promise, He keeps all of His promises to you, too.

Do you find it hard to keep your promises?

Dear God, we’re thankful that You keep Your promises. Help us to keep our promises, too. Amen.
