The Scientific program covers the latest and most important issues in SCREEN- ING. It includes recent advances, new directions and problems in the area of neonatal screening, childhood screening and maternal screening. I am sure this Meeting will provide ;a great number of invaluable experiences and opportunities for developing and developed countries alike. Sapporo City, the capital of Hokkaido prefecture, is one of the most energetic cities in Japan with 1.7 million inhabitants. Location: Century Royal Hotel, Sapporo, Japan.

Host: Local Organizing Committee of 1st Asian Pacific Regional Meeting of Interna-tional Society for Neonatal Screening.

Official Language: English.

Accommodation: The Organizing Committee will make block reservations during theMeeting for a number of rooms at Century Royal Hotel. Reservation form will besent with the second circular.

Transportation: Sapporo is served by all Japanese domestic airlines. Travel time fromTokyo is 1 hour by air or 2 hours from Osaka.
