CODES AND CONVENTIONS

POSTERRatings from recognised film critics is a convention on most posters as it makes the audience see it is rated good by big names, making them want to go and see it themselves.

A motto at the poster does not go against conventions of thriller genre as many have mottos to intrigue the audience as it gives an insight into what the film maybe about.

Majority of film posters have a title. Only some do not as the characters in them are so iconic it doesn't even need to be named to the audience. Although this is a original film to therefore it needs a title to give of the genre of the film and an insight into what it may be about. Therefore, not going against codes and conventions of a normal film poster.

Most film posters has the studio ident to also give off the genre of the film showing I have not gone against codes and conventions of film posters.

The BBFC censor and give certificates to all films in Britain so therefore I didn't go against the code and convention of British films and added a certificate to my poster in the corner to make it discrete as it doesn't give input to the genre my film is.

My poster challenges the codes and conventions as many posters do not have a website for the film at the bottom of the poster.

REVIEWEvery film review has to have a title so I followed this code and convention an put at the very top of the review. The colour theme is black as it connotates mystery , which are film conveys.

In every review there is the names of the actors on the review as it is a major part of information for the audience as some may only watch a film if they know the actors in it.

In all reviews there are a vast amount of images to intrigue the audience into watching it that is why I used three to develop the code and convention of a review.

I used a motto on my review which has challenged codes and conventions as many do not have a motto on their film review as they don't see it as a important convention.

Every review has some sort of opinion of a film as otherwise it would be a review. Therefore we have used a normal convention of a magazine review.

In terms of developing a convention we actually put other opinions on the review using a star rating.
