Mrs. Martel’s Weekly Write-UpWeek of April 23, 2018

The 100-minute reading requirement continues for the 3rd and final trimester. I will be collecting all logs on Monday to see if they’ve met the reading requirement as well as checking on their comprehension. For the 3rd trimester the requirement is 4 book responses due by June. Genre Folders will also be due the 2nd week in June, all 20 books for the Genre List are due then.
Stamina, desolate, admonish ~ the vocabulary sheet needs to be completed and ready for class on TUESDAY. Students are responsible for looking up the definitions, part of speech, and will also need to do an illustration of the word. The assessment will be on Thursday.
The Witch of Blackbird Pond is our new novel. Along with that reading we will be doing some work with Parts of Speech.
SOCIAL STUDIES: This week we will start Chapter 4 ~ Building the first Colonies. We will begin with The
Spanish Colonies.

We only have 8 ½ weeks left of 5th grade. It is important to keep organized, do you best and study for tests/quizzes so that you can end strong!!
