Alpha Sigma Tau information is now available through the Internet, on the Worldwide Web. The Alpha Sigma Tau National Home Page became official at the annua l ation al Council meeting in January 1996.

The page function as a publicity and communication tool for the sorority, promoting Alpha igma Tau globally with general information and announcements, collegiate and alumnae chapter listings, philanthropic information , Convention updates, a li t of e-mail addresses for AlT sisters, and more. The page is fully interactive, with links to chapter web pages , other Internet Greek sites, and e-mail. Under development by Kathy McMahon, the Acting We bMas ter, the page is updated on a regular ba is.

The address of the page is "http:/ / telly. p y.ohio-state.edu/ a t/ ". The page is best viewed using etscape web brow er; however, any we b browser software will allow users to see the page.

Imagine: Your collegiate chapter winning

one of Alpha Sigma Tau 's most prestirrious honors at the ational Conven"' tion , the Founders Award. As you make your way to the head table amid the congratulations of other co llegiate chapters, the chee r , and the applau e to accept the award , your mind recalls the activenes , elf-reliance, and trust your chapter member placed in each other to receive such an honor. You remember the quiet study time a t the library each week and th e acti e class oriented sister study groups that evolved. These activities e nabled your chapter members to increase th eir average GPA by 0.6 for the year, pleasing the ch apter me mbers and their parents. You think of th e finan cial acco unt that your chapter started three year ago. The funds a ll owed yo_ur chapte r to renovate th e chapter su_Ite thi year, and attend the RLW wnh twice the required membership so that 50 % of yo ur c h apte r co uld return bringing new ideas and a n ation al AI-T awaren e s to the chapte r. Those accounts al o enabled your ch apte r to send five women and your Chapter Adviser to Convention to live the experience of being "Anchored withAlpha Sigma Tau. " Finally, you remember the chapter Sorority Growth and Development programming on topic ranginrr from e thni c di vers ity to women'~ health issues. Don 'tforget the Sisterhood activities like dynamic rush and pledge programs that enabled your chapter to fi ll quota and mee t total. Your chapter is th e example!

Our Garage Sale in June was indeed a spec tacular success. We raised over $400 for our chapter and on a day tha t the temperature hit about 95 degrees and the humidity about the same. We had a g reat time bargaining with everyone and loved it when we aw a man approaching. If they liked what they aw, th ey never bargained, just paid the sticker price. Maybe we should have a male only garage ale next year! Special th a nks to Marilyn Chri ty, Carlotta Sale mi , Joyce Berg a nd Diana Mihaiu.

Carlotta Salemi hosted our H o liday party thi year and a wo nderful time was had by all . Our gift exchange is always fun and it wa amazing how many of the gifts matched what everyone wanted. We do not draw name , we just bring in a gift to exchange and p lay a card game to see who gets first pi c k . Laura Pobursky Alfred wa thrilled when she received an apple d ecora ted napkin holder a h e had just d ecorated her kitch en in apple d ecor!

We look forward to 1996 and to th e many pecia l things we will be doing in that year. We are working on Convention and trying to get a man of the alumn the re as po ible. Our special congra tula tion to Chri Bronk on h er engagement.
