Hippies Style• Hippies fashion started out with the same

kind of clothes as in the fifties (bell-bottoms and old lady dresses)

• Then little shops called “boutiques” opened, selling cheap and colorful clothes to the younger people , which is when the ty-dye came in

• Peace signs and other symbols were signs of vividness, peace and freedom

• Almost all of the hippies went barefoot and did not were shoes ,and if they did they wore sandals

• Hippies culture went along with their style of clothes as a meaning to be free

Hippies Now

• Hippies styles now show up in the clothes like the ty-dye shirts and peace signs which are really big

• The peace signs are mainly for the younger teengers• They are all over everything like the school books,

jewelry , and clothes• The bell bottoms and granny dresses• Today we where shoes and we don’t go anywhere

without them • People still make hippie clothes and sell them but

their not really in that much of a style• The hair today we keep clean and brushed

How they influence us today

• They leaded to us following the slogan “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” Which was made to respect the earth

• They helped out with free speech, environmentalism , consumer activism, and natural foods , including a little help with women’s rights.

• Earth Day observances, global warming, and the international green movement can also trace its origins to a hippie environmental world wide

• Therefore hippies can be THANKED for helping the world stay clean
