W February 11th Sacagawea gives birth to Jean Baptiste

W April 7th Lewis and Clark send their keelboat and a dozen men back downriver, with maps, reports, and Indian artifacts for President Jefferson. The remaining party heads west.

Afterword

WLewis and Clark met their objective of reaching the Pacific, mapping and establishing their presence for a legal claim to the land, and they established diplomatic relations and trade with at least two dozen Indian nations
