Ladies and Gentlemen,
WELCOME to the EUROPEAN DRONE SUMMIT 2019!
UAV DACH e.V. has been going strong for nearly 20 vears, representing the unmanned aviation community from the German-speaking area of Europe and its efforts to build a safe, sustainable UAS-industry.
Since the founding of UAV DACH in 2000 the list of current UAS-solutions has expanded to include video cinematography, cartography, agriculture and forestry, civil defence, law enforcement, inspection of infrastructures and intra- and extralogistics, to name a few. The UAS-industry has proven its value to society time and again.
It is essential that we „do the right thing“ when conducting our operations – always. Yes, flight safety is our No. 1 priority, but doing the right thing also includes mitigating our impact on the communities we fly over and operate within.
UAS have already proven their utility in a variety of missions, and more innovations are on the horizon.
Are we prepared for smart and autonomous Urban Air Mobility in Europe? Are we able to respond on dangerous drone operations?Do we have good solutions for integrating UAS into the civil airspace?Do we need futher innovation for UAS in humanitarian aid?
The mentioned questions are the guiding thread throught the EUROPEAN DRONE SUMMIT 2019. I extend a warm welcome to the audience and all speakers during two days of gathering information, discussions and networking.
Sincerely yours
WELCOME NOTE BY

FUTURE DRONE APPLICATIONS WITH SUSTAINABLE BACKGROUND.
The DRONE PIONEER AWARD focuses on the story behind the technology. It searches drone applications related to major social or environmental problems. The award is meant to ignite public debate about new opportuni-ties und selects pioneers that buck the global trend to focus on business only. The independent jury will filter those who really focus on impact without shying away from conflict. To classify the projects and their effectiveness, the projects are benchmarked with the sustainable development goals of the United Nation until 2030.
