The Figueras Group has been right at the very forefront of public seating design. Renowned for its creative and design led approach, it has been behind many of the

industry’s most innovative developments and iconic installations.

For the past 50 years, Zoeftig has been designing and developing public seating solutions that are a perfect combination of practicality and style, flair and function.

Similarly, for almost 30 years, SIS has been leading the way in the design and development of a wide range of retractable lecture theatre and auditorium seating.

Together, time and time again, we have delivered pioneering products that have tested design parameters and achieved new benchmarks in quality, performance and durability.

Zoeftig is established in West Norwood. Mick Carter and Alan Zoeftig commence the design and manufacture of contract furniture.

A foundation based on innovation and craftsmanship, with over 90 years of experience and know-how has made Figueras a global leader in the seating industry

Specialists in Seating (SIS) become leading experts in the design, manufacture and installation of retractable systems in the UK market.

Zoeftig manufactures an iconic domestic design by Peter Crutch. The Top End

range, still in production today, is a simple yet stylish

design and remains as iconic now as it’s ever been.

Zoeftig finds the lure of Cornwall’s clean air and beautiful scenery too much. The operation relocates to Old School House in Jacobstow, Cornwall.

170 years of seating expertise

Over a year in development, Zoeftig launches a product that will go on to enjoy massive success. First installed at McCarran Airport, Las Vegas, the Zenky beam seat secures the company’s reputation as an aviation seating market leader and can now be seen in airports all over the world.

New ownership brings new direction and added impetus to Zoeftig. Figueras also furnishes the Sage Gateshead with a design developed with Foster+Partners.

The inFINITE seating system, with its exceptional inherent flexibility, breaks the mould in public seating.

Designed by Foster+Partners, it was outfitted with the compact and comfortable 302 Arena seat which, thanks to its acoustic features, is suitable for all types of shows.

A total of 26,000 seats are now installed at McCarran Airport, Las Vegas, positioning Zoeftig as a leading global player in the aviation public seating industry.

Figueras, the global leader in the design and manufacture of public space seating solutions, becomes the largest and most diverse seating group in the world through its acquisition of Zoeftig and SIS.

The Figueras Group, once again, revolutionise the seating industry with a totally new concept in multi-purpose seating.
