PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
2020 Classes
We will be forming our new classes on the first day of school,
Wednesday 29 January. It is important that all students from Years 1-6
are at school that day, even if there are Kindergarten siblings who don't
start until Thursday. We understand there may be new students who
move into the area during the holidays and there may be some
adjustments during the first week.
End of Year Events
We have had some wonderful celebrations over this last two weeks of
school. Our Presentation Day Celebration of Achievement assemblies
were just joyous - with performance items, some new awards that
reflect our current areas of learning, and so many of our families coming
along to support our students! This year, every child who received an
award also received a book because we want to take every opportunity
to support literacy development in our students. Today our K-4 classes
put on a great Christmas/End of Year concert with enthusiastic
performances & some great audience participation (especially those
parents I noticed dancing along!). Tonight is the Year 6 Farewell. This
will be a special time to celebrate with our students and wish them all
the very best for high school. Tomorrow afternoon we will all form an
arch to 'clap out' our Year 6 students and any of our staff who are
leaving us this year. We look forward to our families joining us for this
just after 2.30pm!

Farewell to Staff
We have some of our staff leaving us this year for new adventures in other schools. We thank them for all they have given to MPS and wish them well. Special thanks to Mrs Chryssovelonis for her work as our Admin Manager at MPS; we wish her all the best at her new school.
Reports
Our school reports are being sent home today. There has been a huge amount of work put into these by our teachers and I trust that our families will take time to read them carefully. If there is anything that is unclear, please don't hesitate to contact the teacher so we can give further explanation. We are continuing to review and refine our reporting process and hope that this semester's report makes clear how your child is progressing with their learning.
Canteen - Community Funds
As our P&C School run canteen concludes this year I have asked P&C parents where to direct the remaining funds and there was strong support for one of our school projects; the shade cover and synthetic grass adjacent to the Community Hub to provide a safe, shaded play space for our playgroups, parent meetings and OOSH.
Canteen 2020
Next year our canteen will be run by a local company Jazzmel. They were successful in our recent tender process and will be operating the canteen from our first day of school. There will be a new menu, which has successfully been given the Healthy Canteen certification.
Thank you
I would finally like to thank all of our staff and our parent community for everything you have done this year to support our students in their schooling. It has been a wonderful year at MPS and I am very grateful to you all. To all our students, I hope you have a wonderful and safe school holidays. We look forward to seeing you back next year.

Today, all students from Kindergarten to Year 4 entertained each other with some end of year fun. Each class
performed a number, well done to all classes on their performances.
Our huge upgrade of our grassed oval area is now under
construction. Over the course of the holidays there will be
plenty of action, ready for the New Year.
