Dialogue

Faisal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-SabahDeputy Managing Director, Relations & IT

At the outset, I would like to commend the great ef-forts KPC has spent on more than one level to bolster its position as global company in the oil and gas in-dustry. Perhaps one of the most important steps KPC has taken in this direction recently is participating in EXPO 2015 fair currently held in Milan, Italy under the banner “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. This important step affirms KPC’s interest in seizing op-portunities to enhance its current position in particu-lar, and Kuwait’s in general.

EXPO fair will be held for a period of six months, and aims to improve food quality and safety, guarantee food and drinking water cleanliness as well as eradi-cate famine, drought and malnutrition. The fair’s main theme revolves around the necessity of all inhabitants of Earth having a healthy and adequate food.

In this regard, I can’t fail to praise KOC’s efforts in the exploration domain, especially after it recently an-nounced exploring four new oil fields and two reser-voirs in north and west of Kuwait, which will increase the volume of oil reserves of west Kuwait areas, in addition to playing a pivotal role in maintaining the State of Kuwait position at the forefront of oil produc-ing countries.

Undoubtedly, these explorations represent the efforts and devotion fruit of KOC employees, a company that strives to achieve the 2030 strategic directions of KPC, and fulfill the hopes and ambitions of Kuwaiti people.

In its efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and bonds of cooperation, and exchange views on issues relating to the factors affecting the oil market, Kuwait Petroleum Corpo-ration hosted, on Monday, April 6, 2015, a high-level del-egation from the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOC Ltd.)

Kuwaiti delegation, in talks with the Indian Oil Corpora-tion, was headed by Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Pe-troleum Corporation Mr. Nizar Al-Adsani, Managing Di-rector of International Marketing Mr. Naser B. between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of India, es-pecially joint cooperation between Kuwait Petroleum Cor-poration and Indian companies. KPC expressed its willing-ness to support future projects between the two parties.

KPC increases its Quota and renews its contracts with US Valero Co.

In its continuing efforts to seize the opportunities of Crude oil contracts and to maintain and increase the diversity of quotas, KPC renewed crude oil contracts with the Ameri-can Valero Company with a total value up to about one billion dollars and quantitative increase from that of the last year.

The renewal of the contract came on the sidelines of the meeting, which was held at KPC on Thursday, April 16, 2015. This meeting was attended by representatives of crude oil Sales Departments under the chairmanship of Managing Director of International Marketing, Mr. Naser B. Al-Mudhaf, and Mr. Joseph William, CEO of American Valero Company and his accompanying delegation.

On this occasion, Mr. Naser B. Al-Mudhaf extended his sincerest thanks and gratitude to all those working in Marketing Sector for their continuing efforts to increase Kuwait's share of crude oil and petroleum products in the international markets. He also indicated that International

Marketing Sector strives to achieve the strategic direc-tions of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, which are all for the interests of Kuwait.

For their parts, representatives of the American Valero Company expressed their happiness for signing the agree-ment between the two parties. They also stressed that de-spite the existence of economically cheaper alternatives of Kuwaiti oil introduced by exporters competing in the region, the close relationship and the flexibility offered by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation as a reliable source of oil make Valero company work on developing business relationships between the Company and KPC, as well as making sure to develop better relationships.

It is worth mentioning that the success of Marketing Sec-tor to renew and increase these contracts will be written down in the Sector’s record, which faces a fierce competi-tion among oil producers under the sluggish global de-mand in general.

At the beginning, some may ask, “What is vaccination?”

Vaccination is simply to give the body a dead or diluted dose of pathogens such as bacteria and vi-ruses so that the body can form im-mune antibodies. If the body gets caught up in real inflammation, it will be ready with all its immune might to defend.

Before traveling:

Vaccines before traveling are very important, especially when trav-eling to countries of low levels of healthcare such as Africa, South America, and Asian countries such as India and Pakistan, and East Asian countries including Thailand, Indonesia, and Philippines.

Examples

1. Typhoid and Yellow Fever vaccines

2. Hepatitis A + B virus vaccines

3. Meningitis Vaccine

4. Rabies Vaccine

Preventive vaccines given to passen-gers before traveling should be taken from Preventive Health Department.

I advise you to take them at least two weeks before travelling.

Summary

Never underestimate vaccines; I know cases of Meningitis and Hepatitis vi-ruses

Do you intend to travel?

Return to the Preventive Health Depart-ment to make sure you have all of the vac-cinations you require for your destination.

H e a l t h

Do you intend to travel?

Many people believe that vaccinations are limited to children, and that adults do not need them. However, this be-lief is completely wrong, because vaccines are as important for adults as they are for children. There are many types of vaccines for adults; I will show you a type of vac-cine you will need, espe-cially if you are planning for travelling in summer.
