"Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot
bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so
neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine,
you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him
will bear much fruit, because without me you can do
nothing." Jn 15:4-5

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
While most of our thoughts may be about summer, when it comes to Faith Formation we are also thinking ahead to next fall. Starting next fall all children 3 years old through first grade participating in the Wednesday night program will be in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-based program that has become very popular among young kids in our school and Faith Formation. There are a limited number of spaces available in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for our second graders. All other second graders, along with third through fifth graders, will have the option of attending one of two sessions Wednesday evening using a new curriculum titled “Finding God”. We hope the kids will find it interesting and exciting. The curriculum also has material to support what the children learn on Wednesday nights for the parents that we will be sending out.
The Middle and High School programs will continue as they were this past year. We are excited to continue bringing in college-aged students from the University of St. Thomas. We are also planning to include some students from U.W. River Falls and our own high school seniors to lead small groups and help with the middle and high school programs.
The new element for next year is expanding our Family Faith Formation Program. We have always offered a family-based option. Next year we will be introducing a new curriculum; it will be the same curriculum used in our elementary program: “Finding God,” though this will be a program geared specifically for use in a family setting. Family Faith will include a monthly meeting on Sunday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 AM. At this meeting families will be introduced to the next four units, receive age appropriate instruction, and materials to be worked on at home for the coming weeks. We are really excited about expanding the Family based option and bringing families together once per month on Sunday mornings. Watch for more information in the coming weeks if this interests you.
Although we may be dreaming more about warm summer days right now, it is also important to think about the next school year. This is a great time to consider Saint Patrick School for your children’s education. We start with a program for three year olds and go through to eighth grade. If you are in the Hudson School District you can choose Saint Patrick School for your four year old kindergarten student as we participate in the Hudson School District’s Four Year Old Kindergarten Program. Even if you child has not been in our school previously, it is never too late to move them over for all or part of their middle school experience. Before the end of the school year contact our school and arrange for your child to shadow for a day, meet other students, and find out more regarding what a Catholic School education is all about.

Roger Michael Kurtz, son of Patrick and Ashley Kurtz. April 22, 2018
Last weekend at Mass you may have heard me say what a difference a week makes! It is hard to
believe that one Sunday we have over a foot of snow on the ground and only one week later it is sixty degrees outside. We went from heating the building to running the air conditioner in less than seven days.
Now that it feels more like spring, it is easier to think about summer. With summer comes many activities for our youth. We have a lot of activities to keep kids of all ages busy through the summer: Vacation Bible School and Totus Tuus for elementary ages; Extreme Faith Camp, Summer Stretch, Totus Tuus, and Epic for Middle Schoolers; and Extreme Faith Camp, Mission Trip, Totus Tuus, and Oasis for the High School kids. We will also have some opportunities for our kids to participate in music ministry this summer.

YOUNG ADULTS Graduation Time!!- It is hard to believe that it is almost
high school graduation time. In Hudson it is coming extra
early because of the construction schedule at the high
school. We want to honor all our high school graduates at
the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass on May 13. (Yes we know it
is Mother’s Day - what a great way to honor Mom by
telling her you are grateful for her supporting you to
graduation.) Invitations will be going out to our graduates
in the coming weeks. However if you were not Confirmed
at Saint Patrick’s we might not know that you are
graduating this year. Please drop us a line at the parish
office so we can get you an invitation and honor you as
well. If you are graduating from high school this year from
any area high school, make sure you plan to join us.

OPENING YOUR HEART CONNECT COFFEE TALK:
SET THE WORLD ON FIRE
We live in a culture that is obsessed with busyness. Each of us wants to use our time in the way that God wants us to. God wants us to see the brokenness of our world and be determined to do something about it.
Please join us for a taste of Walking with Purpose and encouragement to choose how we bring about positive change in our world and to see what God can do through us. All women are welcome - no need to be signed up for the weekly Bible Study. Just come as you are for some fellowship (wine will be served!) and a chance to see what Walking with Purpose is all about.
Monday, May 7 8:00 - 9:30 PM Music Room - Saint Patrick Church
“The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
(1 John 4:4)
Walking with Purpose is a women’s Catholic Bible study held on Mondays from 8:00 - 9:30 PM at Saint Patrick Church from October through May. The program aims to bring women to a closer relationship with Christ. Personal study and small group discussions at WWP each week link our everyday challenges with the solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church. For more information, contact Susan Gotrik at [email protected] or Jessica Timmerman at
