ISSUE 1. Non adoption of zero tillage technology

(Dr. JC Rana, Director Agriculture, Govt. of HP)

Four Zero-till-drill supplied one each to KVK Una, Berthin, Kangra and Bajaura for testing under Central Sector Scheme through ICAR.

The Department has also evaluated zero-till-drill in 2013.

Punjab-89, Palam Triloki, Palam Sumool Azad P-3 in POP Palam Sumool appears to be the substitute of Azad P-1 but few problems restricting its popularization. Pea lines having powdery mildew resistance genes er 1 and er 2 introgressed in the genetic background of Azad P-1 developed. The BC 6 and BC4 lines with powdery mildew resistance genes er 1 and er 2, respectively were planted for multiplication at MAREC, Sangla during Kharif, 2013 (Unfortunately, this material was damaged due to flash floods at Sangla during June, 2013. Multiplication of the material have been reinitiated
