Keele University offers a very special student experience.Our beautiful, spacious and peaceful campus is the
perfect place to concentrate on your studies.
The University has five Halls o Residence with
over 3,200 bedrooms available. All Halls o
Residence are within easy walking distance o the
centre o campus. All University accommodation
is ofered on a sel-catering basis, to give you the
maximum flexibility to choose what, when and
where you eat.
All Halls o Residence have kitchens so you can
cook or yoursel or just have a snack. The campus
store sells everything you need, including allessential groceries, resh ruit and vegetables,
rozen and chilled ood. There are two large
supermarkets just a bus ride away in Newcastle-
under-Lyme, plus specialist ood shops.

Standard, En suite, and Premier En suite is
available to you at Keele University.

Living at Keele is easy. With great facilities,discounts and transport to local areas, you can
make Keele a home from home.
Shopping
You can buy all lies essentials on campus and
nearby. As well as the campus supermarket, Keele
has a newsagent, the Students Union shop and
post o ce, a bookshop and a bank. There is also a
regular book air in the SU Ballroom where you
can pick up cheap textbooks. Newcastle-under-
Lyme (just a 10 minute bus ride away) has major
high street stores plus smaller, specialist shops
and a popular street market.
Keele Card
The Keele Card is a great pre-paid acility that
looks like a credit card but is in act your Library
and ID card. You can load unds to your Keele Card
at the special service points using your credit
card, debit card, cash or the Keele direct debit
acility. The card can be used in the sports centre,
library, retail outlets and restaurants around
campus. You can buy a range o services including
meals and groceries. The Keele Card entitles you
to student discounts o up to 15%, making eating
out afordable.
Meal plan
A good way to budget or your ood costs is to
buy a Meal Plan. This guarantees you breakast
and a two-course dinner in the Comus Restaurant
Monday to Friday or 12, 18 or 30 weeks.
Groceries
There is a small supermarket on campus, selling a
range o ood including Chinese, Indian and other
international ingredients. There are also two large
supermarkets a short bus ride away in Newcastle-
under-Lyme.
Places of worship
As an international university were sensitive to
the diferent needs o our students. On campus
we have an interdenominational Chapel, which
provides a ocus or Christian worship and a quiet/
prayer room called The Space, which individuals
o any or no aith can use or personal worship or
quiet contemplation.
There is a Mosque (located in Barnes Hall but
open to all students on and of campus) with
acilities or Muslim worship. There are also
student societies dedicated to supporting
students in their religious worship and lie,
including an Islamic Society, Keele Evangelical
Christian Union and CathSoc.

Were very proud of our vibrant sports and social life at Keele.We offer as many different activites as possible so that everyone
has the chance to get involved in something they enjoy.
Keele students have a long tradition o taking their sport seriously. With a
well-equipped Sports Centre and state-o-the-art Kinesis suite, your involve
can either be at a competitive level, through one o the many AU clubs, join
the gym or by taking part in one o the fitness classes ofered. The Centre is
home o TEAM:KEELE a community o Keele students who compete in BUC
(British Universities and Colleges Sport), and every year there is an inter-va
competition between Keele and Stafordshire University.

The University Library, situated at the centre o
the campus, provides the great majority o books,
reports and articles you will need or all your
studies, but increasingly these printed sources are
supplemented by a wide range o digital resources,
such as electronic books, ull text online journals
and bibliographic databases, as well as CD and
DVD recordings.
There are PC laboratories in several Schools, but
the largest groups o open access PCs, and PCs or
teaching, are in the library. They have a ull range
o modern sotware and high bandwidth internet
connection, and are connected to high speed sel-
service printers.

Almost all student rooms in halls o residence
have network sockets, so students with their own
PCs can connect to the Keele networked resourcesand to the internet.

sure you have the academic and language skillsyou need to succeed will make your transition to
university lie a lot easier. The International Study
Centre at Keele teaches you these skills as well as
ways to enjoy living and studying in the UK.
Your first day at University
From the day you start in the International Study
Centre, you are a student o Keele University. You
will study and learn on campus, and have access
to the University acilities such as the library,
sports hall and Students Union.
Welcoming students from aroundthe world
Being an international student means you are part
o a wide community o diferent nationalities. At
the International Study Centre we know how to
help you adjust to your new environment and
make the most o your time in the UK.
Supporting youMany o the students who study with us are new
to the UK and will be studying English language as
well as academic subjects relevant to their chosen
subject area. We monitor and support each
student to encourage you to develop throughout
your time with us.
University-style teaching
The International Study Centre introduces you to
the style o teaching that you will experience on
your degree. Taking part in tutorials, seminar-styleclasses and larger group lectures means youll be
well prepared once you progress to your degree.
Direct progression to your degree
Joining the International Study Centre guarantees
that you will receive a conditional ofer o a degree
place at the University. On successul completion
o the course and having met the required entry
standards, you will proceed directly to your
preerred degree programme.
