As usual it was a very well organised event led by David Lawton, Stuart Thomson, dennis verity and Andrew Smith. The Ladies Committee, led by Judith verity and Caroline Smith cooked up and served a sumptuous meal again of soup, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, apple pie, cream, cheese and biscuits and washed down with ample helpings of beer, wine …. And coca cola!!! Former international football referee, Trevor Simpson, warmed up the well at- tended gathering of Club members and friends with recollections of incidents involv- ing football stars of yesterday. He then gave way to Scouser, Gary Skyner who enter- tained everyone with typical humour for over an hour. A vast array of team and individual honours and performances were acknowl- edged with the ‘Smith Family’ bagging a good collection: Matthew—2nd XI First Divi- sion Championship Winner; Sarah: Willy Gill Scorer of the Year and Dad Steve—2nd XI Bowling and Clubman of the Year. A special presentation of an ICC tie to Howard Clayton was made to recognise the ICC’s appreciation of all his work in the Aire- dale & Wharfedale League. Thanks to all who supported the event, including providing quality Raffle Prizes, the Star Prize being a weekend for 2 including Dinner Bed and Breakfast at Riverdale Hall Hotel, Bellingham, thanks to Mr Jock Cocker. IP & DP REPORT FROM THE LEAGUE COMMITTEE MEETING IP & DP attended the above meeting on Tuesday 24th November. The main points are listed below

• David Alred will succeed Howard Clayton as League Secretary • Ian Taylor will succeed Brian Warne as League Treasurer • Jim Scally will succeed Norman Holroyd as League President (David Steel will deputise for a period prior to this) • Illingworth have again avoided the cup preliminaries. In the 1st round on Sunday 16th May the firsts will play

away at Addingham (2nds at home) • If we progress to round 2, the firsts will play at Harden or Calverley (2nds at home) • If we progress to round 3 the firsts will play at home against Alwoodley, Beckwithshaw, Woodhouse or Bilton

(2nds away) • And so on…… - Why stop there Ian? Keep going!! • There will be 11 changes to the rules for next season, 3 of which only affect 3rd teams. The only one of any real

significance is that all 22 league games will commence at 1.00pm. Details of all the voting will appear shortly on the league website. If anyone wishes to know more they can contact me on the numbers below

ing visiting teams paying for a mini-mum of 8 teas lost out 18/16 and the one concerning a 15 over maximum for any bowler fell by 3.
