Yes! When each of us puts on the Lord in baptism, we are launched on perhaps the most significant goal of all creation. We are part of the most amazing plan, God's plan for the salvation of mankind. An important part of that plan is the transformation that we go through as we walk the Christian life. As we see from the example of Paul, we can become something very different from our natural selves if we willingly accept the will of God in our lives. Many people often wonder what God’s will is for their life. I think the answer is much simpler than we want to imagine. The answer is we are to submit to His will, obey His commandments, and allow Him to shape us into the beings He intended for us to be. That doesn't sound especially heroic or difficult enough. In fact, it sounds simple. Yet, anyone who has tried to live this way has learned the difficulty of obedience and getting our own will out of His way. This is a part of what Jesus was saying in Luke 9:23. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." I want to encourage you to be actively working for the Lord and being a part of His plan. I don’t think we can comprehend the wonder of what God has planned for us. Trust in the Lord as you strive to serve Him in your life. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.(Philippians 1:6) Richard Oller

“Are You Being Transformed?”

In Romans 12:2 we read, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern

what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Are you being transformed? “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and

follow me."

I want to encourage you to be actively working for the Lord and being a part of His plan. I don’t think we can comprehend the wonder of what God has planned

for us. Trust in the Lord as you strive to serve Him in your life.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it

to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)

Good Morning

I am reminded about a story I shared awhile back. A miner struck gold and carried his bag of nuggets with him everywhere. One day he died and went to heaven, still carrying his precious nuggets. When he arrived, an angel asked him why he was carrying asphalt. “This isn’t asphalt,” he explained, “it’s gold.” To which the angel replied, “On earth it’s called gold, but here in

heaven we use it to pave our streets.”

It is just a funny story, but there is some truth in what it says. Many of the things we value are truly not worth that much when it comes to eternity. Jesus put it this way in His Sermon on the Mount. “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew

6:19-21).

So my question for you this morning is, are you walking around carrying a bag of rocks that is of no value in the long run, or are you investing and spending time on things that will last? What do you value? Where is your

heart?
