Tithing Message of the week:
November 24, 2019 - Feast of Our Lord Jesus
Christ, King of the Universe
“…. giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit
to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in
light.” (Colossians 1:12) God wants us to be happy!
Instead of looking at the Ten Commandments as being
restrictive and telling us what we can’t do, look at
them as guides for living a joy-filled and peaceful life.
Most of our problems arise when we put our own
needs first or spend most of our time trying to acquire
“things.” Instead, try putting God first in all things.
Ask Him how He wants you to use your gifts.
(Diocese of St. Louis)
NEXT WEEK’S READINGS FOR DECEMBER 1, 2019

2nd Reading - Rom 13:11-14 Gospel - Mt 24:37-44
TITHING THE TITHE FOR THE MONTH OF
NOVEMBER - OUR HONDURAS MISSIONS
It is through the grace of our Lord that our Parish receives so many blessings. We, as a parish, tithe to express our constant dependence on Him for everything. Tithing is the first 10% of one's income - 5% to the parish and 5% to other charities. Our first 5% goes to the diocese in assessments which we have been paying all along. The second 5% for the month of November will go to our own Honduran missions. They are: Our Little Brothers and Sisters in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and the Good Samaritan Orphanage in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
On Saturday evening,
Lebanon Catholic School
hosted the Blue and White Gala at The Star Barn
Village in Elizabethtown. It was truly a great
event complete with silent auction, live auction,
and live music. Mrs. Water’s presentation was
inspiring, and it was great to see so many of our
parishioners supporting our school.
Mr. David Abel, the owner of The Star Barn
Village, offered words of encouragement and
motivation for the future of Catholic education at
Lebanon Catholic School. We each have a
spiritual responsibility to help our young people
know the foundations of the faith and to know
Jesus Christ. We are all spiritual parents to the
children that are our future.
Hats off to the many dedicated members of the
faculty, staff, and administration for their
efforts in coordinating an amazing event. Thank
you to Fr. Al Sceski, pastor of Saint Joan of Arc,
Hershey, for covering Saturday’s Mass so I
could attend the fundraiser.
If you would like more information about
enrolling your son or daughter in Lebanon
Catholic School, please contact Melissa
Woodward in the school office and tell her that
Father Coyle sent you to get your special
enrollment gift.
In Christ,
Fr. Coyle
