Ringing in the New Year While putting together this years final issue, many things come to

mind. Regardless of economic conditions the local industry can be assured that a good

percentage of the serious buyers in the region picked up our magazine and looked through it in their pursuit of a good deal. Throughout 2011 we’ve presented more than fifty thousand to choose from, every make and model you can think of. In addi-tion there’s been twenty thousand or more vehicles offered by private owners. Boats ranging from eight foot jons to gleaming mahogany lake cruisers or sparkling fiberglass cuddy cabins… motorcycles from pocket-rockets to full dress road bikes and roaring custom works of art, it was a great year for variety. Trucks from low riding half ton short beds to aluminum bed tri-axle dumps and long haul diesels. We’ve seen tractors from five horsepower rear engine yard mowers to restored field workers… to rumbling behemoths with six foot buckets and ten foot back hoes. Campers of all sizes, along with RV’s fit for a king and ATV’s priced from a few hundred up to ten thousand or more… and the infinite variety of trailers that are special built to haul them all… they’ve all been seen in our pages. Most of all we’ve presented the cars. Whether a big photo that clearly shows the beauty and style, or a single line of print giving the bare essentials, like an ancient horn of plenty, they come tumbling out for your consideration. New, used, antique, classic, kit cars, parts, and sparkling custom creations…What-ever your preference, if you looked, you would have found it. So there it is for this issue and the year that has gone before. All have been sold to new owners, and if they haven’t they’ll return in next weeks issue but at a bargain price since the year on the title will be one year older than it is now. It has been our pleasure to bring you stories about special vehicles and their owners as well as automotive events held over the past year. It is this coverage along with our regular features that make us a magazine. There’s something nearly religious about preserving, restoring, and showing examples of our me-chanical heritage. It’s such a selfless pastime, entertained largely out of love and respect in the hope that knowledge can be passed on about the machines that have served us well and for that, de-serve to be preserved and remembered. The evolution of these machines parallel the evolution of engineering and they serve as stepping stones for those seeking to learn the fundamentals.
