Significant amount of Gap training required in RUI & Scott full mask respirators, AIIMS III & IV to bring existing volunteers up to standard. Introduce 1st Aid training and seek budget via LGGS to fund. Attend quarterly RTAC meeting, develop training meeting with local volunteer reps and volunteer trainers prior to the RTAC meeting. Capture volunteer training to report to local government. *Gap training Started early October, 60 volunteers completed RUI & respirator training in Augusta & Wallcliffe. Require a formal procedure for fire appliance maintenance - DFES LGGS servicing requirement as apposed to, damage & insurance repairs. There were twelve short films shown over three days and these were attended by approximately 50 people and run by volunteers. Numbers were down slightly this year due to Western Power works on the Sunday resulting in 3 days of films instead of 4. Two exhibitions took place in the Cocoon Gallery this quarter: 1. Robyn Hewett presented ‘Women of Substance’, with a display of fabric sculptures. Five of the seven sculptures sold. 2. Judy Wake presents acrylic paintings and pen and ink drawings. ACTION PROGRESS COMMENTS: This is ongoing and is prioritised according to seasonal activity or use of areas/businesses by the public. Recreational water use - Bacteriological water sampling from identified popular use river, ocean and water body locations is undertaken in collaboration with the Department of Health WA from November to April each year. Food sampling is undertaken in collaboration with the Local Health Authorities Analytical Committee who develop programs that identify particular foods to sample. Capacity exists (depending on funding) to conduct additional sampling identified by this department. We respond to food complaints where it may be necessary to send samples to the laboratory for bacterial, speciation analysis or if the food contains foreign matter. Drinking water is also regularly sampled from food businesses who are not on scheme water to check that their treatments are effective. We also respond to residents wishing to have their drinking water source (bore, dam or rain) analysed. Public aquatic facilities water quality is also regularly sampled for compliance.
