The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in the resurrection of the body
And the life everlasting
Amen!
The Apostles’ Creed
You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy!(Isaiah 26:19)
O Death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? (Hosea
13:14)
… to live is Christ and to die is gain! (Philippians 1:21)
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among
them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any
death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first
things have passed away.” (Revelations 21:3-4)
My Hope in God
The Rich Young Ruler
A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit
eternal life?”And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God
alone.
The Rich Young Ruler
You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND
MOTHER.’”
And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”
The Rich Young Ruler
When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all
that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in
heaven; and come, follow Me.”
But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was
extremely rich.
The Rich Young Ruler
And Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for those who are wealthy to
enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter
the kingdom of God.” They who heard it said, “Then who can
be saved?”
So how is the passage relevant?
I believe in the resurrection of the body
And the life everlasting
Amen!
(1) Those who only pay lip service to God
Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; They
believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. (Luke 8:13)
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 7:21)
(2) Those choked by life’s worries and pleasures
But the people paid no attention and went their way, one to his own farm,
another to his business (Matthew 22:3)
The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a
wedding feast for his son. And he sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast .
(Matthew 22:2)
The Rich Young Ruler
But Jesus said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with
God.”
(3) Those who are walking with the Lord
And He said to them, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times as much at this time and in the age to come, eternal life.”
(3) Those who are walking with the Lord
(3) Those who are walking with the Lord
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of
worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that
which is good and acceptable and perfect.(Romans 12:1-2)
