Mission Statement

• The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. mission is to provide a quality education to its students with a goal of 100% pass rate on the NCLEX exam. In addition, it is the mission of the Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. to comply with all regulatory body requirements related to a LVN school.

• The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. will incorporate the Differentiated Entry Level Competencies of Graduates of Texas Nursing Programs, Vocational (VN).

Company Background

Founded in 2009 by Kim Kelly, RN, BSN, LNC, The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. (VNI) was a response by Ms. Kelly to the nursing shortage which has become a major concern across the country.

As the Director of this non-profit school, Ms. Kelly’s goal is to address the nursing shortage issue, as well as provide the education needed to open the door to solid career opportunities for students from all backgrounds, who are just entering the job market or perhaps re-entering the job market or who are unemployed.

Already a successful business woman and well-known in the Houston, Texas area, Ms. Kelly seeks to use her broad network of professional contacts to benefit VNI and its students, both during their educational process and beyond.

BON/ TWC Approvals &Accreditation Information

The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. is an approved provider of vocational nursing education in the State of Texas. Your Certificate of Completion along with other required educational components, and the successful completion of the Board examinations are required for the title of Licensed Vocational Nurse.

• The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. (VNI) has been approved by the Texas Workforce Commission

• Approved by Texas Board of Nursing April 19, 2012.• The school will seek accreditation within 2 years of operating.

It is not possible to achieve accreditation prior to this.

Student Services• VNI has an organized, interactive curriculum offered in a state-of-the-art

facility. We employ a professional team of instructors, most of whom are RNs, with decades of professional experience.

• VNI is centrally located, and we make every effort to be sure that our clinical rotations and testing facility are conveniently located.

• Our classes are 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. which allow plenty of time for our student’s other daily obligations.

• Our staff is on hand to assist students from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. M-F.• Our tuition includes textbooks, CPR Training, TB Test, 2-day NCLEX Review

and more.• We offer Job Link Resources for our Graduates. Our network of healthcare

organizations are on board with assisting VNI with placement after graduation and testing.

Facilities

• The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. is located in its own dedicated space in a free-standing, privately owned building with easy access from major highways.

• The facility is less than 6 years old, with new equipment for student use, and state-of-the art teaching tools.

• We offer a small-classroom environment which allows for personal interaction with faculty and students.

• Although our facility has room for VNI to grow, our Board of Directors is a forward-thinking group of individuals, with an eye to the future—always thinking of ways to improve and expand.

Placement

• Our professional and administrative staff will work with our graduates to assure they have the credentials for the best placement possible after graduation.

• The relationship we have with our clinical rotation sites, as well as the vast professional network developed by our Director and the Professional and Administrative staff of VNI will pool all of their resources to attain the best possible placements for our gradates.

• We are committed to assisting in placement with a goal of 80% of each graduating class as required by the Texas Workforce Commission.

• We will track our students, first job positions they have acquired and document these statistics as required by TWC.

Tuition & Miscellaneous Fees

Tuition for our program is posted in our school catalog. This is located at the school and also at www.vocationalnursinginstitute.com.

• Because we understand the current economic situation, we have NO ADDITIONAL FEES for our program—books, CPR certification, TB tests, 2-Day NCLEX Review and much more are included in the price of tuition.

• Local banking institutions can be a great resource for education loans to be repaid after graduation and placement. Although VNI does not have payment plans, we are consistently working to secure information that will assist our students in funding their education at VNI. Our advisors are here to help you answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding our financial policies.
