• Acelera has developed a v e r y c o m p a c t a n d e c o n o m i c a l f l u e g a s treatment system based on i ts novel ro tat ing wave accelerator. The use of this state-of-the-art accelerator reduces space and power requirements, thus making it a very viable and cost-effective solution for flue gas t r e a t m e n t

Intense pulse relativisticelectron beamNagaoka University of Technology, Japan

• Studies on flue-gas treatmentare being carried out by usingintense pulsed relativisticelectron beam (IREB) withelectron energy on the order of100 kV and beam current over 1 kA.

• The advantage of IREB for gas-treatment is its high-energycapability which allowssimultaneous gas-treatmentover long distance and in largevolume.

• The induction electron-beamaccelerator "ETIGO-III" is usedin this experiment.

Conclusions

• EBFGT is very effective for flue gas purification both from coal and oil combustion boilers, new p r o j e c t s a r e f o r e s e e n .

• New appl icat ions concern Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons treatment, especially at waste incinerators. Hybrid systems are investigated.

• Accelerators need further developments, however feasible units are offered at the market.
