    Java AssignmentsAssignment 1:

A Smith number is a computer, the sum of whose digits is the sum of the digits of its prime factorsobtained as a result of prime factorization (excluding 1). The first few such numbers are 4, 22, 27,58, 85, 94,121…

    Example:

    666

    Prime factors are 2, 3, 3 and 37

Sum of the digit are (6+6+6)=18

Sum of the digits of the factors (2+3+3+(3+7))=18

    4937775

    Prime factors are 3, 5, 5, 65837

    Sum of the digits are (4 + 9 + 3 + 7 + 7 +7 +7 + 5)=42

Sum of the digits of the factors (3+5+5+(6+5+8+3+7))=42

    Sample data:

    Input 94 Output Smith Number

Input 102 Output Not a Smith Number

    Input 666 Output Smith Number

Output 999 Output Not a Smith Number

    Assignment 2:

Write a program to find L.C.M. of two numbers. The L.C.M. of two natural numbers can be foundby the following method:

If the larger number is a multiple of the smaller number, it is the L.C.M. of the two numbers, otherwise the next multiple of the larger number can be found and it can be checked if it is amultiple of the smaller number.

  • Head of the Department / Subject Coordinator Head of Shikhar

The two numbers should be accepted from the user and LCM should be printed using mainmethod however LCM must be found using method calcLcm(int a, int b )

    Example

Let the two numbers be 3 and 5. The larger number is not the multiple of 3 (i.e. it is not divisibleby 3). Therefore next multiple of 5 i.e. 10 is found. Number 10 is still not the multiple of 3.Therefore next multiple of 5 i.e. 15 is found. Now, because 15 is the multiple of 3, the L.C.M. of 3and 5 is 15.

    Sample Input:

    Enter Number 1: 4

    Enter Number 2: 5

    Sample Output

LCM of the given numbers is : 20

    Assignment 3

A class called Number has been defined to find the frequency of each digit present in it and thesum of the digits and to display the result. Some of the members of the class Number are givebelow:

    Class name: Number

    Data members num-long integer type

    Member functions / methods :

Number( ) Constructor to assign 0 to num

Number(long n) Constructor to assign n to num

void digitFrequency( ) to find the frequency of each digit and to display it.

int sumDigits( ) to return the sum of digits of the number

Specify the class Number giving the details of the two constructor and functions voiddigitfrequency( ) and int sumDigits( ).

  • Head of the Department / Subject Coordinator Head of Shikhar

    Sample Input through constructor is:

    121

    Output

    Digit 1- frequency 2 time

    Digit 2- frequency 1 time

    Sum of digits = 4

Assignment 4:Twin Primes are consecutive prime numbers whose difference is 2 For example, (3, 5), (11, 13), (1

7, 19) are all twin primes. We define the distance of any twin prime pair from n as :

minimum(abs(m-pl), abs(n-p2)), where abs( ) returns the absolute value of its argument and

minimum( ) returns the smaller of its two arguments.

Write a program that reads in a positive integer n and prints out the twin prime pair that has the

    least

    distance from m

    For example if n is 30 the pair is (29, 31) , if n is 13 the pair is (11, 13), if n is 49 the pair is (41,

    43), if n is 54 the pair is (59, 61).

    Sample Data

    Input:

    Give the number: 34

    Output:

    Number read in is: 34

    p1: 29 p2: 31

    Input:

    Give the number: 60

    Output:

    Number read in is: 60

    p1: 59 p2: 61

  • Head of the Department / Subject Coordinator Head of Shikhar

Assignment 5: Write a program to print perfect numbers between m and n. Where m and n are

input by the user such that m0 and

  • Head of the Department / Subject Coordinator Head of Shikhar

    Assignment 7:

A bank intends to design a program to display the denomination of an input amount, upto 5digits. The available denomination with the bank are of rupees 1000,500,100,50,20,10,5,2 and 1.Design a program to accept the amount from the user and display the break-up in descendingorder of denominations. (i,e preference should be given to the highest denomination available)along with the total number of notes. [Note: only the denomination used should be displayed].Also print the amount in words according to the digits.

    EXAMPLE 1:

    INPUT: 14836

OUTPUT: ONE FOUR EIGHT THREE SIX

    DENOMINATION:

    1000 X 14 =14000

    500 X 1 =500

    100 X 3 =300

    50 X 1 =50

    5 X 1 =5

    1 X 1 =1

    EXAMPLE 2:

    INPUT: 235001

    OUTPUT: INVALID AMOUNT

    Assignment 8:

A unique-digit integer is a positive integer (without leading zeros) with no duplicates digits. For

    example 7, 135, 214 are all unique-digit integers whereas 33, 3121, 300 are not.

Given two positive integers m and n, where m < n, write a program to determine how many

unique-digit integers are there in the range between m and n (both inclusive) and output them.

  • Head of the Department / Subject Coordinator Head of Shikhar

The input contains two positive integers m and n. Assume m < 30000 and n < 30000. You are to

output the number of unique-digit integers in the specified range along with their values in the

    format specified below:

    SAMPLE DATA:

    INPUT:

    m = 100 n = 120

    OUTPUT:

    THE UNIQUE-DIGIT INTEGERS ARE:

    102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 120.

    FREQUENCY OF UNIQUE-DIGIT INTEGERS IS : 9

    INPUT:

    m = 2500 n = 2550

    OUTPUT:

    THE UNIQUE-DIGIT INTEGERS ARE:

    2501, 2503, 2504, 2506, 2507, 2508, 2509, 2510, 2513, 2514, 2516, 2517, 2518, 2517, 2530,
