The systems consist of an offloading hose reel, a hawser reel and quick release hook. Between off-loadings, the hose will be stored onto the hose reel and the hawser on the hawser winch, safe- guarding the hose and hawser against damage and increasing their operational lifetime. The GustoMSC offloading systems are designed to minimize the space required onboard of an FPSO/FSO to store the hose and hawser equipment. The selection of special flexible hoses enables the use of a small diameter hose reel and double layer storage of the hoses on the hose reel, thereby reducing the overall width and height. A helideck can be placed over the hose reel. The mooring hawser is stored on a winch on top of the quick release hook saving even more space on often congested FPSO/FSO‘s deck space. Offloading station layout The system comprises the following main items: • Offloading hose reel c/w offloading hose • Offloading hawser winch c/w hawser and pick up line • Quick Release Hook • Pneumatic hoist for the emergency offloading hose • Hydraulic Power Unit for operating the offloading hose reel, QR Hook and hawser winch Hydraulic system – drive and control system Both the hose and hawser reel are driven by means of hydraulic drive units with integrated hydraulically operated fail safe parking brake. Hydraulic supply is generated by a power unit, driven by electric power from the FPSO distribution board. Control of the drive is through a local control console. The hydraulic power unit is usually designed for under deck mounting. The HPU supplies oil to both hose and hawser reels and enabling smart and smooth operation of the reels. The hydraulic system operates by means of proportional hydraulic valves and allows operators to vary the speed of the reels and/or the spooling device. These safeguard the system’s lifetime. The offloading hose reel is provided with a locking device which consists of a hydraulically operated pin. The two positions of the locking pin, corresponding to “drum locked” or “drum unlocked”, will be monitored by proximity switches. The locking pin bracket may also be used to measure the hose force on the reel when the hose has been reeled out and the hose reel is locked. In case of failure of one of the drive units or failure of the HPU, the hose can still be reeled back on the drum. A steel wire rope is stored in a gutter on the outer diameter of the drum. By pulling this steel wire off by a winch, the hose is reeled back on the drum. Productsheet R1 GustoMSC © 11.100 Page 1 of 2

    GustoMSC Offloading Systems

    Description

The GustoMSC offloading systems have been developed to enhance the safety of offshore operations from FSOs and FPSOs. The systems consist of an offloading hose reel, a hawser reel and quick release hook. Between off-loadings, the hose will be stored onto the hose reel and the hawser on the hawser winch, safe-guarding the hose and hawser against damage and increasing their operational lifetime.

The mooring hawser is stored on a winch on top of the quick release hook saving even more space on often congested FPSO/FSOs deck space.

Mooring of export tanker and offloading of FPSO

The mooring procedure consists of 7 steps (see Mooring pattern). The whole procedure is executed without the need for tugboats. The export tanker approaches the FPSO to such a distance that a messenger rope can be launched (by rope gun) from shuttle tankertotheFPSO,step1.Instep2theHawserispulledtotheexporttankerandfastenedat the bow.Viastep3,4and5itispossibletopullthemessengerropeofthehosetothebowoftheexporttanker.Step6and7showthecompletion of the mooring operation.

After the offloading of the FPSO the floating hose is reeled back onto the hose reel drum. The same applies to the mooring hawser that is also reeled back onto the hawser reel drum. The equipment is now ready for the next mooring & offloading operation.
