For immediate release: April 9, 2014 CELEBRATING THE 10 TH ANNUAL BARRIE WATERFRONT FESTIVAL LIVE OUTDOOR MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT FOR ALL AGES! MAY 23 - 25, 2014 • FREE ADMISSION CENTENNIAL PARK - CENTENNIAL BEACH www.barriewaterfront.ca This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Barrie Waterfront Festival, presented by chay today @ 93 1 fm, which takes place May 23 - 25. For a decade, the Barrie community has embraced the festival, contributed to its growth and helped establish its cultural importance. It has come to signify the beginning of warmer weather, a reason for families to get together and a chance to discover new artists while appreciating major headliners. With a warm welcome, we have been able to make it the spring event for citizens and business of Barrie and Simcoe County. “It’s hard to believe that we’ve been doing this festival for a decade now”, said Lido Chilelli event organizer. “I’m incredibly proud of how much this festival has grown, excited to celebrate this anniversary and looking forward to another ten incredible years.” The FREE ADMISSION B101 AND CHAY TODAY @ 93 1 fm stage will be located in Centennial Park with an adjacent beer garden. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 23 with the Hit Mix Party Tour, continue on Saturday May 24 from noon to 10 p.m. and on May 25 from noon until 6 p.m. As always, the festival promises to deliver an exciting line-up of performers and this year is no different! From hip-pop to classic rock, solo artists to tribute bands, this all-ages event will get everyone dancing and singing along. Start your weekend off Friday night with the All Ages Hit Mix Party Tour featuring Will Nash & Stereo Bangers. Swing your way into Saturday with tributes of the heady hits of the 1930's and 40's from the Toronto All-Star Big Band, and get funky with KC Roberts Saturday afternoon. As the evening begins listen to some pop by, Eleven Past One, then catch Prty H3ro, a hip-pop- dance rock trio, and end the night with the winner of the 2012 MuchMusic Cover Contest Tyler Shaw, whose hit single "Kiss Goodnight" will surely excite the crowd. For all those who love their classic rock, don't miss Classic Sunday, a day filled with tribute bands including: Hot Rocks (Rolling Stones), Mama Kin (Aerosmith) and Crush (Bon Jovi).

  • To add to the excitement, the free outdoor entertainment returns with a midway of rides including: the Sizzler, Spinner, Grotesque dark ride, Berry-go-round, Teacups, Rio Grande train, rock climbing wall, car and motorcycles and everyone’s favourites the Ferris wheel and carnival games. There will also be face painting, street vendors, fresh food, treats and contests.
