River Road near M-53, reported that between the above times, person(s) unknownstole the copper sprinkler valve assembly by cutting it off the building. Thegrounds keeper discovered the theft when he turned on the sprinklers.

LARCENY - 5/14/10 - 0300 HRS~ The manager of Key Safety Systems, located at 7000 19 Mile Road, reported that~at about the above time, person (s) unknown stole copper electrical wiring from

three outside parking lot lights on the west side of the business. It wasobserved that the lights were not working. When the electrician was workingon the lights it was discovered that the wiring was missing.

Irving, near 15 Mile and Van Dyke, reported that between the listed times,person(s) unknown attempted to cut the copper piping from the sprinklersystem's backflow valve. The suspect(s) were unsuccessful in cutting throughthe piping.

LARCENY FROM BUILDING - 6-1-10 @ 0001 HRS. - 6-7-10 @ 1500 HRS.An employee of 7 Eleven, 39725 Van Dyke, located between 17 and 18 Mile Roads,reported that some time in the past 5 days, someone cut the copper sprinklervalve off the rear of the building. The sprinkling system had been used thisseason, however due to the recent rains, they haven't been turned on over thepast 5 days. It appears a saw was used to cut the pipe.

~ LARCENY FROM BUILDING - 6-15-10 @ 1500 HRS.~An employee of Luckmar Group, 35735 and 35815 Stanley Drive, located in the 15

Mile and Mound area, reported he discovered that the copper sprinkler systemshad been stolen off of two different buildings belonging to the same company.Unknown when the thefts actually occurred.

LARCENY - 8-16-10 1700 HRS. - 8-17-10 1000 HRS.A foreman of Ecker Mechanical, a company that has been contracted to performwork at Schuchard Elementary School, 2900 Holly, located in the 17 Mile Roadand Dequindre area, reported that 600 feet of copper lead had been stolen fromthe worksite. The foreman states that he locked the welding machine and thecopper lead in a gated dumpster area of the school. When he arrived at theschool the following day, he found the copper missing. The lead is estimatedat approximately $3000.

BREAKING & ENTERING - 11-7-10 1700 HRS. - 11-8-10 0900 HRS.The manager of a business in the 7000 block of 15 Mile Road, west of Van Dyke,reported he found that a railroad car access door was being held open withplastic packing crates. He states that door hasn't been used in years andshould not have been opened. Upon checking inside, he found that approximately60' of an electrical carrier, which runs along the ceiling, was missing. Theelectrical carrier has a large amount of copper and aluminum inside of it.

~ BREAKING & ENTERING - 11-20-10 2000 HRS. - 11-22-10 0800 HRS.~ The president of a Sterling Heights business reported that the company

purchased property in the 40000 block of Mound Road, south of 18 Mile Road,that has been under renovation for several weeks. Sometime over the weekend ofNovember 20th someone entered an unlocked door of the building and removed 80feet of copper duct. The ducts provide electricity to the shop floor and areusually mounted overhead, however they had been taken down to the floor levelfor painting. None of the aluminum ducts were taken, only the ones containingcopper.

BREAKING & ENTERING - 1-5-11 1200 HRS. - 2-18-11 1200 HRS.A realtor showing a client a foreclosed home in the 4000 block of Surrey Drive,located in the Mound and 15 Mile Road area, reported that the garbage disposaland copper pipes had been stolen. The realtor stated that the house had beenwinterized on January 5th, at which time the pipes and disposal were installed.There is a lock box installed on the residence, and there are no signs of

forced entry.

LARCENY - 2-1-11 1200 HRS. - 2-20-11 1200 HRS.~he manager of State Farm, 2107 - 14 Mile Road, east of Dequindre, reported

that the lawn sprinkler unit and copper piping had been stolen from the eastside of the building. The estimated value of the system is approximately $500.

LARCENY - 2-10-11 1300 HRS. - 2-11-11 1300 HRS.~An employee of Treasure Homes out of Eastpointe reported he discovered that the~ copper plumbing had been stolen out of the basement of one of their properties

in ~he 43000 block of Crissman Court, located in the 19 Mile and Mound area.

- LARCENY - 2-17-11 0750 HRS.~The manager of a storage facility in the 33000 block of Van Dyke, north of 14~Mile Road, reported that she was awakened by the sound of Csawing'. The

manager has an apartment in the upper level of the business. She looked outthe window and observed a subject removing the copper piping from the sprinklerbackflow valve on the north side of the building. The suspect looked up andobserved the manager watching him. He threw the piping into the trunk of hiscar and backed up out of the parking lot so his license plate could not beobserved.

~ARCENY FROM GROUNDS - 2-19-11 @ 0030 HRS.The owner of the Polo Circle complex, located in the 19 Mile and Schoenherrarea, reported that someone cut the copper piping to the sprinkler system ontwo buildings. A resident of one of the buildings stated he heard some noise alittle after midnight.

and Utica, reported that someone stole the copper backflow valve from thebuilding.

~ARCENY - 5-1-11 0800 HRS. - 5-7-11 1000 HRS.An employee nf a business in the 44000 block of Phoenix Drive, located in theVan Dyke and M-59 area, reported that someone stole the copper piping andcontrol valve apparatus of the sprinkler system from the side of the building.The sprinkler system has not been checked in a long while and it is unknown

when the piping was stolen.

and Ryan area~ reported they received a call ~rom the realtor advising themthat someone removed all the copper piping ~rom the residence. The house hasbeen vacant ~or approximately one week, and is up ~or sale. Entry appears tohave been made through a pried side garage entry door. A parent o~ the ownersresponded to board up the door.

There were no signs o~forced entry, however the realtor noticed that the key was missing ~rom thelock box.

in a vacant house he is trying to sell in the 4799 block of Pickwick DriveJnear 16 Mile and Ryan. There were no signs of forced entrYJ but the realtorbelieves that the suspect may have the code for the lockbox .
