Others” game cards (Lesson 7 SG 3a—Lesson 7 SG 7b)

Crayons

For each child:• Friend sheet (Lesson 7 SG 8)• Key Concept sticker (Lesson 7 SG 9)• Two-sided take-home coloring sheet

(Lesson 7 SG 10 and Lesson 5 SG 11)• Snack

In Advance Recruit a Helper to operate the music and sound effects CDs.

Determine which songs you will use and be prepared to lead the children in singing. Songsuggestions:

• Upbeat song for transition from Activity Stations to the Creative Bible Teaching• “Touch the Sky” (Touch the Sky C D)• “God is Number One” (God is Number One CD)

Determine whether or not you will use the sound effects CD. If you prefer to not use thesound effects, or to use only a few of them, look at each sound effect listed in the lessonand determine if you will play the sound effect from the CD, say the words yourself, havethe Helper say them, read them from a piece of paper pulled out of the correspondinggift bag, or omit the sound effect, and then modify the lesson accordingly.

Gather the supplies listed above and arrange your classroom as you did for Lesson 5.

Print the fronts and backs of the five “God Wants Us to Help Others” game cards. (Thereare four identical cards per page—you need only one card from each page.) Copy corre-sponding fronts and backs onto cardstock and cut them apart so you have five two-sidedgame cards.

Teacher’s Prep

READ 2 KINGS 5. How busy are you these days? In the midst of our full schedules, we canrace through our days so quickly that we don’t really see the people or events happening inthe world around us. So this week, stop. Take a look around you. There are many people inneed, many people who could use a helping hand, if we just take a moment to look. Takesome time this week to see where you can help show God’s love to someone. Send a co-worker a note of encouragement. Help a child with his or her homework. Take a meal to aneighbor. Chances are, after helping someone once, you’ll take time to stop again.
