Dear Parishioners,
Writing this on a Monday, which I don’t like to do since it risks missing stuff that might come up by Wednesday when we send out the bulletin but since we might have another nor’easter Tuesday which might make it tough to get anything out on Wednesday…here goes. What an interesting March!
Presuming we still had power and were able to hold the Fish Fry on Friday, thanks for coming out and supporting the Knights and Youth Group. Someone recently asked me how I was with the two groups combining for this and the Fall’s Spaghetti Dinner and while thinking about it, even a quick response, I realized how happy I was with the idea. Getting different groups together has some great synergy for both the groups in question and the Parish as a whole. As of last Sunday, we’d sold more tickets to the Fish Fry than we have for a while and that’s a good thing. It means more funds for the Youth Group’s trips (they’re the beneficiaries of the dinners) and it means more people coming to the Parish for a time of fellowship and community. How can I not be happy with that? And when our younger parishioners get to work with some of our adult organizations, it’s also a good form of recruitment. Winners all around.
And while the March 2 storm (and hopefully not the March 6/7 whatever) messed up a lot of schedules, keep an eye on the Parish schedules. A lot of great stuff happening here. Now that the invites for the Opening Mass/Picnic are in the Bulletin, make sure to be aware of the whole schedule of events for the Parish 100th. After the Opening we take a break for the Summer but we go into full swing starting in September with all kinds of events—both fun and informative. We’ll be sure to do our best to keep the Parish schedule centered on these celebrations. Do your best to do the same. Remember what I said above about how great it is to have everyone get together. Whether it’s for Mass and prayer, for a Donut Sunday (next one is March 18th!) or the special occurrences of the Parish 100th, this is what Parish life is all about—people coming together in a community of faith and friendship and enjoying that with each other. Don’t miss out.
And don’t miss out on the Triduum Liturgies and the Forty Hours Devotions. Do your best to make all three Triduum Liturgies; Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil. The Triduum really is the highlight of our prayer life and expression of our faith. And remember that you don’t have to commit to all three nights of the traditional Forty Hours timeframe. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 1st, 2nd and 3rd are all the same prayer service with fellowship to follow. Get ready for the May 6th Mass and Picnic in good spiritual style. God bless.
Fr. Schiele

From Your Parish Health & Wellness Ministry…
Think about what you Value Success may be defined as reaching your goals. But sometimes it can be difficult to know which goals to pursue. One step that may help you get started is to think about what you value. Take time this week (at least 30 mins.) to sit down and think about who and what’s important to you. What kind of habits can help you reach your goals? Maybe spending more quality time with people is important. If you never seem to have the energy to do that, think about what you can do to help boost your energy. You might set a goal to eat healthier, get more exercise, improve your sleep, or reduce stress.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts
they perform for us in our time of need. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Our Lord and
Savior. AMEN

““PARISH PANtRRY” EEASTER
Our Lenten journey has begun and we are quickly moving towards the glorious celebration of Easter. Our Parish Pantry would like to help make this celebration easier, for approximately 30 families facing difficult circumstances, by providing food and grocery gift cards for a complete Easter dinner. Thus, in addition to its usual needs, the Pantry is currently collecting boxed mac-and-cheese, canned soup, canned yams, canned fruit, boxed cake mixes and containers of icing, and non-alcoholic sparkling cider; the Pantry would also like to provide an additional gift card for each family to use towards the purchase of an Easter ham. The Pantry’s Easter food distribution will take place on Palm Sunday afternoon, March 25; it would be most helpful if all Easter donations could be received before then. Donations of food can be placed in the Parish Pantry bins in the church narthex; gift cards can be easily purchased and donated via the scrip table in the church narthex. Please feel free to contact Gary or Pat at (215) 230- 8897 if any further information is needed. Your ongoing support of this important ministry has made it possible to provide special blessings for these deeply grateful families, especially for the holidays. May our good Lord bless YOU and YOUR families for all the good that you do in His name!
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
