2009 Ayesa opens its first office in Gurgaon with the clear aim of establishing a permanent presence in the country, this being part of its internationalisation strategy. 2010 The firm is awarded its first contract for the supervision of maintenance work for the Sister Nivedita Bridge in Kolkata. Following this, it makes its début in the country’s rail sector, designing and supervising a 17-km stretch of the Obulavaripalle-Venkatachalam line, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 2019 Ayesa is awarded the contract to design four stations and provide technical assistance for India’s first semi high-speed rail system, with a design speed of 180 km/hour, linking Delhi and Meerut. This is Ayesa’s most important project to date in the country. Also in 2019, one of our flagship projects, the Noida - Greater Noida line, is opened and our team in India reaches 400. 2017-2018 Ayesa secures its position as a leading international engineering firm in India with its first major metro project - a contract to design 26 stations for the Delhi Metro (phase III of the Janakpuri-Botanical Garden line). The Magenta Line is the country’s first to feature driverless technology. Moreover, with private clients the company also participates in important tenders. Now with extensive experience in various types of transport projects in India, between 2017 and 2018 Ayesa secures even more projects in the country, this time involving the Bangalore and Pune metros. Here, the company showcases all its expertise and disciplines through a number of contracts which include design, architecture, specialist services for underground construction work, electromechanical services, and safety and fire protection systems. In 2018, Ayesa also wins the supervision contract for the Purvanchal Expressway (packages V-VIII) and the detailed engineering contract for phase IV of the Delhi Metro. A number of major projects are opened, such as the Lucknow Metro and the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro. In 2018, our team in India reaches 300 and our offices in Noida are joined. 2011-2012 2016 Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) awards Ayesa its first technical assistance contract for a full phase of the north-south line of the Lucknow Metro, which opens in record time just two years later. It is subsequently certified with the highest green rating (Platinum) by the Indian Green Building Council. Ayesa’s achievements continue with the design of four underground stations for Line 3 of the Mumbai Metro and supervision of Line 7 and 2B, spanning 17 km and involving 13 stations. 2013-2014 2015 The company is responsible for the project management of the Agra Lucknow Expressway, India’s longest at 300 kilometres. New multi-disciplinary contracts are signed for metro systems, such as the one joining the cities of Noida and Greater Noida, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which spans 30 kilometres and has 21 stations (Aqua Line). Ayesa’s involvement in India’s metro sector picks up speed with it securing a detailed engineering contract for the Kolkata Metro, specifically the north-south line connecting Noapara-Baranagar-Dakshineswar. This is India’s oldest metro system, opening in 1984, and one of its largest.
