I don’t live in Stockwood but a problem i’ve noticed is that the area is full of one bed council flats, the council are moving unfortunate troubled people into who have had problems one way or another could be mental illnesses, drug abuse or alcohol abuse..-Does this mean the community is seeing more crime?-Not really, no I would say its a quite area the police are doing a really good job of patrolling the area frequently but at the same time this charity shop has been broken into twice, we have had to install CCTV an the repairs to the door were a fortune…The area needs a better mix between public housing and private housing, more of a balance amoungst the community.

We need a bigger variety of shops, you only have McCoy’s an co-op for grocery’s here McCoy’s only do bits and bobs like milk an bread its more of a newspaper store ennit, and the co-op don’t have much competition so they can put premium brands out which your forced to buy, you have no choice.

“The local shops are alright for bits and bobs but I go into the centre for big shops I can’t afford to get all my groceries from here, it’s way over priced.”“

“Well we need more shops I have to pop into town to get things all the time its really

expensive.” here.

“The car park behind the co-op needs to be refurbished there’s pot holes everywhere and rumours are going around that redevelopment is going to happen there which means all the mums aint going to have anywhere to park, the mums are already having to park outside my house because of the pot holes.”

“Rubbish, we ‘ll go into town at mid-day to do our shopping. On the way back we’ll get to the bus stop at the right time an the bus will be 15 minuets late, so we end up being late for picking the little ones from school.”

“Its usually ok sometimes it will take 20 minutes to get into town on the bus other times it will take 40 minutes but ya cant really do much about that unfortunately.”

“Awful they don’t stick to the timetable you could be waiting up to half an hour an two

were meant to of come in that time.”
