John 1:1 NIV

Do you feel like you’re having a long-distance relationship with God? Well, yeah. God’s in Heaven, so that’s pretty long-distance? No. God’s everywhere, and immediately present with you right now, even as you read this! He’s not off somewhere in the stratosphere chilling out with angels. If anything, God’s waiting for our awareness of Him rather than the other way round. The Bible says, ‘He who watches over you will not slumber.’ (Psalm 121:3 NIV)

Have you noticed that when you hang around with the same person a lot you start picking up on their traits and being more like them? It’s the same with God. The more you hang around with Him the more you’ll grow in Chris-tlike characteristics. Compassion is one of these characteristics.
