This book has been written for people who live with someone
it interesting and you might want to read it together. Living with
someone who has dementia may eventually develop into looking
after the person with dementia.
‘I was completely at sea. No one told me what to expect. I just did my best.’
‘Henry got very agitated during the second year after he got his diagnosis. He’s not like that now, but it was awful while it lasted.’
‘I knew Alison had vascular dementia, but it was only when someone said “Ask the Alzheimer’s Association” that I realised they deal with any kind of dementia, and they’ve got a meeting I can go to. I met a man just like me and his wife was the
same as Alison. He did make me laugh. He says I made him feel better because he felt less alone. Now his wife has passed away he comes round sometimes and entices me out to the pub. (Not that I need much persuasion!)’
