1. What you have to submit?The main document must be submitted in the file format PDF/A under consideration of the advices on design (German only).Format versions for archiving are:

PDF/A­1a and PDF/A­1b> (ISO 19005­1:2005),PDF/A­2a and PDF/A­2b (ISO 19005­2:2011).

The file has no password protection and no security restrictions. The file is similar to the print file. The CV can be omitted orlimited to the professional career.Supplementary files can be uploaded additionally if required.The fully completed and signed letter of agreement ( German | English) for electronic publishing on MONARCH­Qucosa must besubmitted.Generally 6 additional bounded printed editions must be submitted.

A permanent binding will be required ( No ring or spiral binding).You can submit the printed editions in format DIN A4 or DIN A5. The pages can be printed on either one or both sides.

2. What is the workflow?Register the document in Qucosa with help of the input assistant.Upload the PFD/A file as well as supplementary files (At the end of the form you can leave a message, e.g. if you need a fastprocessing).Submit the completed and signed letter of agreement (irrelevant fields do not need to be completed).Submit the printed editions as well as letter of agreement to the university library. Submission is possible at the Central Libraryor in one of the Campus Libraries.The confirmation of submission shall be given by mail within 3­6 working days after processing to the deanery of the respectivefaculty as well as a copy to the author.

Open Access Policy of the Chemnitz University of TechnologyIn accordance with the Mission Statement of the Chemnitz University of Technology, the university is strongly integrated and cross­linked onthe national as well as on the international level in research, teaching and further education. To ensure all scientists having access to a unified knowledge base, free access to research results for education and science is veryimportant.

The Chemnitz University of Technology supports the open access idea of the "Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in theSciences and Humanities" from October 22, 2003.

Therefore, the university management have already encouraged scientists of the Chemnitz University of Technology to make their researchresults free accessible in 2006.

The publishing fund bear the publication costs of open access journals under certain conditions.

The Chemnitz University of Technology recommends scientists to use the free Creative Commons Licence CC­BY with the first publicationby an open access publisher (golden open access).

The University Library Chemnitz provides a platform for management and publication of own open access journals. This enable the foundingof discipline­specific or transdisciplinary journals.

In 2009 the open access University Press of the Chemnitz University of Technology was founded. All publications of the publisher are alsofreely accessible online.

Since 1995, all members of the Chemnitz University of Technology have the possibility to provide their scientific publications on the greenopen access channel (self­archiving) or as a secondary publication via the publication server MONARCH­Qucosa. The service is certified bythe Deutschen Initiative für Netzwerkinformation e.V.

The University Library Chemnitz supports and advises scientists by open access publishing.

▷ Publishing fund

Within the peer review process of open access publishing, costs arise as well as in traditional journals. In open access publishing thiscost must usually be covered by the authors.

The Chemnitz University of Technology encourage open access publishing of their scientists. To cover publication costs, funding wasraised in the amount of 26.400 Euro in 2017. Members of the university are able to apply for funding but please investigate otheropportunities (e.g. EU­projects...) before.

In order to provide the publishing fund sustainably, a new business model will be applied since 2017.

After that the university's proportion of publishing fund is calculated by 3 parts:

one part central funds of the universityone part funds of the University Librarysmall author investment in high of 6,66% of the publication fee until the second publication of the faculty

Each first published article of a faculty will continue to be fully funded. So the author fee will be calculated from the 2. eligible article. The decision on subsidy depend on the order of invoice receipts. An overview of previously funded article can you find under "Financing".

Eligibility conditionsYou are a member of the TU Chemnitz and "submitting or corresponding author" who is responsible for the payment of thepublication fee.The paper was not published as a part of third party funded project with own publishing budget.The article is published in a purely open access journal with peer review process. The Directory of Open Access Journals(DOAJ) references such journals. Further information about quality of open access journals and publishers you will find in ourWiki.The publication cost shall be no higher than 2000 Euro per article. This amount includes all costs incl. VAT! Neither publicationcosts higher than 2.000 Euro. Also a proportional funding is not possible in this case.Open access options in otherwise subscription­based journals with hybrid model, like „Open Choice“ from Springer Online,cannot be funded.Every funded publication should certain the hint: "The publication costs of this article were funded by the German ResearchFoundation/DFG and the Chemnitz University of Technology in the funding programme Open Access Publishing"All funded articles will be provided open access on MONARCH­Qucosa, the repository of the Chemnitz University of Technology.Please consider the invoice notes for publication abroad.

The most far­reaching open access license is CC­BY. Every conceivable editing is possible by naming the author. Commercialpublisher often grant limited usages licenses for their publications which for example exclude commercial use or forbid editing. In theOpen Access Policy of the TU Chemnitz the usage of the CC­BY licences is recommended. In the University Bibliographie Chemnitzopen access licensed publications will be recorded and the related license will be displayed. One example for an open content licenseis the "Digital Peer Publishing Licence NRW".

Legal barrieres for second publicationsSince 2014, the new paragraph § 38 (4) UrhG of the Copyright Law which allows a second publication of works also when this rightwas not notified by the first publication, applies. The European Commission launched a pilot to fund open access publications for finalized FP7 projects. This regards projects of thefields of:

The FP7 post­grant Open Access Pilot enable to fund until 3 open access publications per FP7 project afterwards. Via a web form youcan make an funding application.

▷ Horizon 2020

The Horizon 2020 mandate call up scientists to publish their research publications via open access. Funded projects are obligated topublish the results via open access. OpenAire was launched as support project with the aim to promote networking.

As a result of seldom available research data and their importance for the science, the Open Data Pilot was launched as part ofHorizon2020. All projects that have been financially supported under a EU research framework programme should provide theirresearch data. First of all two types of data were defined for the implementation:
