    Synopsis : The course focuses on the techniques of producing good spoken discourse whichincludes public communication such as impromptu and public speeches, groupdiscussion and negotiation. Aspects of sound and speech production will be introducedto improve intelligibility and communicability. Basic principles of oral communicationand the importance of non-verbal communication will be introduced for effectivecommunication. Students will have substantial practice in oral communication throughin-class tasks and activities. These tasks and activities will enhance studentsconfidence in using English for academic and professional purposes. By the end of the

    course, students will be able to apply different techniques and principles for effectiveoral communication.
