1. The installation source comes with the single setup feature for XenDesktop and XenApp.

Double-click the AutoSelect.exe, it will give you the option for deploying XenDesktop or XenApp.

2. Select XenApp. You can see the option for installing Citrix Delivery Controller for initial Citrix

XenApp environment setup. There are options for installing VDA for Windows and separate

Citrix components. I have selected to install CDC with all Citrix components in the same server.

3. I have selected Delivery Controller, Studio, Director, License Server, StoreFront in this server.

4. Select SQL Server 2012 Express for Datastore or you need to have a SQL server separately. Install

Remote Assistance for shadowing the client session from Director

5. It will automatically create the rules in the Windows Firewall.

6. It will show the summary of the installation before installation starts.

7. After installation Go to Start menu and click Citrix to find the components

8. Start Citrix Studio and setup a Site to deliver Citrix applications. From XenApp 7.5, Farm is not

available like XenDesktop.

9. Select an empty unconfigured Site as you are configuring for the first time. Give the Site name.

10. Provide SQL server name and the Database name and click test connection to verify.

11. As the Database does not exist, it will create a database automatically.

12. Database has been created and tested the database connection.

13. Before this setup I have download the Citrix license with this server hostname and configure

License server in this same server.

14. You can see the summary of the Site setup at the end.

15. The Site configuration has been completed.

16. Citrix Studio opens the Site and its components that have been created.

17. To deliver the applications or server desktop OS, you need to install VDA. So install VDA in the

Citrix application server.

18. Select enable connection to the server machine, if you want to deliver the desktop. To use PVS,

select to create a Master image.

19. The VDA will be installed, if you need to install Citrix Receiver select it.

20. Provide the Delivery Controller name

21. Select the features for improving the performance of the application.

22. It will automatically create the rules in the Windows Firewall.

23. It will display the summary of the installation and finish the VDA installation. Now the

applications in this server can be deliver to the users.

24. In the CDC, open the Citrix Studio and setup Machine Catalog

25. Select the Windows Server OS for the Machine Catalog operating system

26. I am not using MCS or PVS in this scenario to provision the server. I will deliver the application

through VDA installed in the server as well as the single instance of the Server OS Desktop.

27. Add the machine name where you installed VDA.

28. Machine Catalog has been created. Now open Delivery groups to create a group of servers to

deliver applications and desktops.

29. Select Machine Catalog to get the servers lists

30. Select Applications for deliver type.

31. Provide the users for whom the applications to be delivered.

32. Provide the application name and the application details.

33. Provide the executable file path and the directory.

34. Select whether the application to be visible to all the users in a Delivery Group or to the

particular users.

35. You can also add the other applications from the server where you installed VDA.

36. Provide the StoreFront server name so that the Receiver can deliver the applications to the

users. Select Automatically, using the StoreFront Servers selected below.

37. Provide the Delivery Group name and the display name for the applications name.

38. Now the Delivery Groups with the Applications are ready to be delivered to the clients who

access through StoreFront server.

39. You can see the applications in the Delivery Group. If you use PVS then we can have multiple

server instance of the same application server.

40. You can also see how many Delivery Groups are using the StoreFront server for delivering the

applications.

41. I have configured the StoreFront as below. Now it is ready to test the applications from the

StoreFront server URL. I don’t have NetScaler configured in this scenario.

42. Type http://StoreFrontServer/Citrix/StoreWeb and login with your credential for accessing the

applications

43. You can see the Applications and the Desktops as below.
